ROM Hack 3ds keeps crashing on the fire emblem if english patch cia

I've tried my friends copies of the patched cia and have gotten the same read additional data part and it goes right back to the home menu and has a error has occurred screen forcing the software to close. Any solutions?

like, which console, what are you using (GW/CFW), which firmware you are on, if you're using emunand and which firmware it has, etc...

Stop using pasta. Use some better CFW like Reinand or CakesFW (or even a nightly build of rxTools). You'll probably have to use firmlaunch since I FE:If requires a high firmware (9.7).

Doesnt the 2.1a english patch of FE: IF make it so you can play it on a lower firmware? Alright I'll try either of the firmwares that you listed. They work on the New 3ds xl right?

Not sure about the english patch. Last time I heard about it, it still was being finished and then I lost track of it.
But in any case, those CFWs I mentioned are better than Pasta (since it's not even being developed anymore) and allow you to use emunand in the N3DS. And yeah, they all work with the N3DS. The easiest one to set up might be Reinand. CakesFW is also good and rxTools is still developing the N3DS support so only the nightly builds work with it.

I'm pretty sure the English patch version and the regular version of FE: IF are the same and I got the same result testing theme. I'll try those cfw and update you on the progress of my problem. Thank you

I've heard a lot of trouble for the .cia version. I'm using the ROM and the patch and have no problem.

Keep in mind the latest version of the patch includes a modified banner file, which will prevent your game from recognizing any installed DLC for the title unless your system region is Japan. Without the banner, the DLC is recognized no matter what your emunand or normal nand region is.

When asked, the team suggested it was "antipiracy support", akin to how that Wii New Super Mario Bros. mod went out of its way to not work on emulators.

You can avoid the problem by removing these files when you patch the ROM.

I'm having an issue trying to get Reinand 2.1 to run but it won't load it once i press start. Am I missing something?

I dont have any update or dlc installed on my 3ds. ive tried other region free games and have the same result all the time.
