So, it is a 32GB console with Mario Kart 8 taking up ~ 4.83 GB of space from the start. Classic current generation Nintendo move here. I think Nintendo would have been better off with a 64GB model with MK8 pre-installed or throwing a disc in the box instead.

Why? Over 90% of all WiiU owners never use the whole 32GB anyway. BTW: If you buy a new PC with a 1TB HDD, over 150GB are already occupied by the filesystem.

The Wii U uses flash, 64gb would bump up the price by a fair bit.

While this looks like a great deal, it would still be a better value to get a refurbished console from their site and then just buy Mario Kart 8 as a physical (or digital) release. Unless this version has a cool gamepad variant like the WWHD did.

I can careless about Wii U but for this one: I would rather to have a physical disc instead of installed it would taking up the space, thought. Stupid decision, Nintendo. Sighing.

Yeah, it's a shame that there are so few "special edition" consoles today. In most cases, only the box has a slightly other design/color, but not the console/controller itself. It's the same with SONY and MS. In the past there were so many cool colors, designs etc. Collecting gets boring today. :(

Exactly. Nintendo would be damn stupid to install a feature which dosen't get used by the majority of players, and which will in addition also raise the price.

I do not think going from 32GB to 64GB after years of time for flash prices to drop, would raise the manufacturing cost enough for Nintendo to bump up the price enough that people would not buy it.

Because people are totally gonna be able to download every game on 32 GB ;O; Three year later, people still bitch about it lol. First world problems.

Dudes, since xboxsomething, ps3 and psvita, downloading games is a functionality they just had to put in. having the stuff pre-installed is probably all for the lazy users. might aswell be a safe thingy for the young ones as nintendo is a console mostly promoted for child-use (because be honest, who has really been playing the awesome horror games the wii had hidden out there somewhere?...)
