Hi, I would like to know if it is now possible to use eShop in region-changed emuNAND for O3DS. If it is then I would like to check out Japenese eShop just for checking out trailers, videos that are only available on Japanese 3DS, etc. I really DON'T want to play online games, do purchases or such, I just want to browse Japanese eShop properly on region-modified EUR O3DS.

I have read guides to do region-changing here and there on these forum topics but no clue how to just use eShop for browsing. Any help will be appreciated like link to guides, etc. Thanks.

PS. My current O3DS XL setup is 4.1 EUR sysNAND, 9.5 EUR GW emuNAND without NNID.

Well a bit of late reply.

Ok so far I have managed to get JPN emuNAND 9.8 working on EUR console (with previous duplicate apps moved in a folder). Everything seems to work but not the eShop. I get error 007-2001 when I load eShop... it seems to connect for few seconds and this error comes up, tapping on OK takes me back to menu.

I thought that the tutorial assumes that I already have a NNID on my EUR sysNAND or emuNAND, but I never registered one, so then next thing I did that and the EUR eShop seems to work fine with NNID on EUR emuNAND 9.8 but still getting same error 007-2001 when I try JPN eShop.

Any idea what I doing wrong? I just want to get JPN eShop working and useable somehow. Thanks for helping by the way.

PS. I using one SD card but to swap it everytime I write on it using emuNAND Tool (I have five emuNANDs: three emuNANDs of EUR with one updated to latest version and one updated with NNID, and two emuNANDs of modded (JPN) with one updated to latest version). Also, the SecureInfo_A of JPN console used from the iso site...

Did you do the intermediary step? You can't go from working EU -> JP. Try NNID EU -> Attempt to access with non-NNID EU and shut down the console immediately after getting an error -> Attempt with JP

Thanks for your reply and help.

Ok so I will first load JPN (region changed) emuNAND login to eShop with JPN NNID (it will obviously throw an error) click OK to go to HOME menu then power it off. Then swap to EUR emuNAND, run the eShop with EUR NNID --> will get error (because I used non-EUR NNID before), then power it off while it shows error. Try JPN emuNAND eShop again. Right?
I tried that two three times I think.

No. You use the EUR NNID which should work, then you use the EUR non-NNID which should error, press power to kill it and shut off, then you use the JP NNID which should work. I think.

Yep same thing (I just didn't mention the pre step).

I noticed that trying eShop of region changed first (an obvious error), and then its original region eShop will give error first time but second time into eShop (without rebooting) works fine (which means that the trick does work). So instead of second try we basically try loading region changed eShop again. However as the guide says, it never worked for me.

EDIT: Some members also told that maybe my console came with some preinstalled games (just like N3DS comes now, hence it will never work for it). Tried to check ticket.db with FunkyCIA but no one gave a response on it. Here: https://gbatemp.net/threads/region-change-emunand-to-jpn.391700/page-2#post-5559413

I don't know what that means, also since I bought it second hand it is on firmware 4.1 which had no games on it, and it seems like some normal (not some special bundled console) black and silver 3DS XL.

What if you press power to kill it when the EU error shows up rather than home?

I keep holding the power button... I think it shows that power down menu for a while and goes blank and I keep holding it until led goes off (I don't remember exactly).

Sounds like what I recall... do you press OK on the error? (I think that's something not to do)
Ofc, this could just not work.

I will quote part of my own text from the other topic link (check my previous post for link):

- If I don't click on OK (and power off) on error 011-3136, then on emuNAND JPN eShop I get error 005-5602
- If I click OK and let it restart (and then power off), then on emuNAND JPN eShop I get error 007-2001.

Well, I'm not up for mass searching right now, sorry.
As far as my limited recollection goes you're probably doing it right. Perhaps I remember wrong, perhaps it doesn't work. Can't say which.
Good luck in your endeavors.

lol thanks for your help :P
I had already given up on it, no more looking around (but if I get some solution for it then why not).
I also own a EUR N3DS XL on 9.0 and since it had a Tomodachi Life welcome edition preinstalled so there is no luck to try on that.
Well... thanks for help! :)
