Picked up a Wii U store display unit @ a yard sale (Along w/ a GC and harvest moon for $110), and am looking for any info on how to get it to play as a regular Wii U. I couldn't get it to go into settings from doing the old Tv - Home Button trick, but did get it into settings once from putting a blank SD card in, but could not duplicate that success.

The Wii U auto boots after the main power is plugged in. I tried putting a blank USB stick in to see if I would get the option to format, but nope. I'm not too sure why the blank SD card trick didn't work again, but I'll keep plugging away.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

You got that at a yard sale?! How to people just happen to have these?!

Yah, he worked at a store that closed down. Said the Nintendo Reps never came back for it.

Aren't there more pros than cons to stay on a Kiosk Wii U than a Retail Wii U? Like, being able to change the region?

I would love to have that Wii U and then I'd finally import NES Remix from US.

If I can get it operable, I'd have no problem trying to do that for you if you explained to me what to do.

The Kiosk Setting says "Set Region: North/Latin America" so I suppose you can also swap for Europe and Japan?

If so, that's a piece of equipment a lot would like to own. Plus, if you want to play Yoshi's Woolly World then you can just import from Europe and play on your Kiosk Wii U. Or am I missing something?

You paid $110 for that? What a steal! That guy could have asked for so much more.

Can't help you with your problem, but couldn't resist replying either way. I'm so jelly right now.
