Sorry for my responses, hope you manage to find a buyer for the Gateway cards and not lose too much money on them. I guess it was just a matter of being miscommunication between the two of you so you didn't know exactly what her requirements were. You see this all the time in project management - one team doesn't describe their requirements super clearly to the implementation team, they make a few assumptions to fill in the gaps - the first team even changes their mind a bit along the way - in the end it is overbudget, delivered after the due date, and does nothing team 1 wanted :-p
you just love to rant don't you ?
you have added NOTHING of value to a valid discussion about a product that lacks a feature that should be easily added other than attack anyone with an opinion about it ... but sure, lets attack anyone who thinks so and give bad analogies while we're at it. :)

The reason is that O3DS users can downgrade to 4.x. Just tell her to downgrade, I see no reason not to.
well he did say why, his friend wants to use the ACNL ram editor which only works on 9.x.......but tbh she could downgrade to 4.x, then downgrade the browser on her emunand and still use AR codes afaik

I actually gave that a try back then, even posted a question about it and you helped me out. I forgot what happened though, it wasn't successful and the RAM editor just didn't work on 4.5 with the 7.x internet browser. We literally uninstalled the browser with DevMen, and installed the exploit compatible browser cia. So I just said screw it, go back to 9.0. I didn't think not having an offline way to boot Gateway would be something she needed so much. I personally just keep my 3DS home and use it like a home console, although I do have a N3DS and MSET exploit + Gateway.

I'm almost done setting up Rxtools for my friend, it's literally the same setup as Gateway. Just takes extra work to get the games on there since they're all cia rather than .3ds files.

Thanks for hearing me out everybody, I appreciate it. Just had to post my thoughts here since it was something that concerned me. We're allowed to simply "Discuss" things here, right?

its not installing the 7.x browser in 4.x, but instead installing the 9.2 browser on 9.9, then you can boot into emunand and use the ram editor codes, its makes using the ram editor a bit more complicated as you have to boot into emunand to do so, but at least you can boot into emunand without internet access

I know you can use the Android app "3DS X-Loader" but my friend doesn't have a phone she can use. What gets me mad is that she had to send me her 3DS just so I can setup Rxtools so we can boot it through MSET (On a 9.0 o3DS). Why the heck isn't there any kind of ROP for Gateway to be able to boot it through MSET like Rxtools can?!
Yes I know we can downgrade to 4.5 and boot Gateway that way, but we WANT to keep 9.0 for the ACNL RAM Editor. It's really important to her.

Gateway's inability to boot from 9.0 gets me so angry. Yet it can boot from 9.0 on N3DS.
Two things that Gateway doesn't have that gets me mad:

1. Can't boot from 9.0 (Downgraded MSET) like Rxtools can
2. Can't play GBA games like Rxtools can

What the heck are you waiting for, Gateway?!
I find it odd too but I guess they only deemed it worth doing on the n3DS since the other entry points required a game.
Whatever the case, I suggest you send them an email calmly explaining it and requesting that they add mset support for 6.x+ on o3DS, they might not respond but they probably read all emails. If nothing else it will let them know people want this feature, if enough people request it I'm sure they'll add it in an update as it would be a simple task for them.

1. Use a Raspberry Pi with a wifi dongle to host the webpage via an access point and use a portable 5V battery pack to power the Pi when needed.
2. Buy the cheapest Android phone you can and use that. It includes a battery and all you need.

A better example than cards and boats is iPhones. It is perfectly technically feasible to be able to add a microSD for storage but for some reason Apple have decided not to give us this feature. Why? Who knows.

The reason why Apple does this is obvious: If they added a SD slot, it would be much harder to charge people higher prices for iPhones with more storage.

Downgraded MSET on 9.0-9.2 O3DS doesn't work at loading GW's Launcher.dat. I emailed GW about it yesterday but haven't received a reply yet.

If you want a mini server for the exploit I have found the wireless sd cards work wonders

I think this is what Ronhero was referring to: http://www.adorama.com/TOPFW016UB.html?gclid=COKo1sazoccCFYlafgodURYOJg
I've seen it linked at least one other time here on the forums. If you're not going to do the 4.5 mset route, this seems like the next easiest option.

That's it; anything that has wireless built in can act as a server and you just need system nand to connect to the ssid and the proper files on the sd. Once setup you can bookmark the static ip of the sd and run it very easily
