Hacking Can I run US emunand fully functional on a JP console?

my friend will bring me a JP N3DSLL(with 9.2 firmware) when he back from HK later this week.
I'm pretty excited since I finally can play with a hackable 3DS again, then all in title




this is my third 3ds. O3DSXL with 9.2 sysnand updated to 9.8 by my little cousin's hand. N3DSXL with 9.4 as later 20th birthday gift.(happy?)

anyone knows the approximate price I can get for selling these two consoles. the N3DS is 0 damage, the original(mario limit edition) is ok...only problem is the battery life.

You'll also need a JPN copy of Cubic Ninja / Sky3ds JPN .3ds (Glorious region lock)

@Ronhero regularly region changes Jap N3DS' to Emunand US/EUR. If he's online, he should pop in shortly and hopefully have a guide handy for ya.

I don't believe eShop and system transfers will work from US to JAP/EU and vice versa, so not fully functioning, but region changing is possible. I don't know specifics but it's discussed and been successful many times in these forums.

There's a workaround to make eShop etc. work, but I read it doesn't work on n3DS because they come with a preinstalled demo and it doesn't work on 3DSes that come with preinstalled content.
Since it is hackable, eShop access isn't really essential, things can be installed as .CIA, but it would still be better to have a local 3DS.

As long as the console isn't 8.1 I can region swap. That guide is a little outdated due to the nus servers being down so a lot has to be done manually

• You (practically speaking, technically you can) can't use eShop on a region changed N3DS, though with EmuNAND that's irrelevant.
• The statement that you might want a hardmod was probably in reference to the fact a prior one has been updated, not that it's a foreign console (though that's also a good reason; keep NAND backups!)
• You cannot set a JP NAND language to English, that'd be simple.
• The UI is the exact same, so unless you're trying to play games in Japanese you can navigate just fine.
• So long as your goal is to have a changed EmuNAND rather than a SysNAND, it should be simpler: No risk of brick, possible easier time changing SecureInfo_A (since you can access the filesystem without a hardmod)...

All you need to do is install all the region changed cia files to emunand then xor the nand and change the secure file. Once done inject to emunand and if it boots in the region you want delete all the old region titles and system format

Make sure to copy everything from the sd card and have a backup emumamd so you can swap back and forth. You can use sdf to transfer the saves

System transfer doesn't work on region changed stuff. If it was still hackable SDF would be a good option, but at this point it looks like tdvs is your only hope. Maybe. (I don't think it's released yet?)

so TDVS can export the decrypt save of a game, right? cuz pkhex only edit clear text

If it's an o3ds yes you can? As long as the secure a file is clean and the target and donor both don't have pre installed content. It's just the n3ds that you can't currently
