When I played Super Smash Bros. and accessed the eShop DLC Menu from there, my installed DLC (cia) gets deleted.
I just reinstalled the DLC (cia) again. But what happened next is that when I played Fire Emblem: Awakening and accessed the eShop DLC Menu from there, the same thing happens, the DLC for my Smash gets deleted.

Any solutions? I've already unlinked my SysNAND and EmuNAND. Thanks! :D

Both, whether it's in game or main menu.

This also applies to themes. They will get deleted everytime you access the eshop

Thanks, I guess no eShop access for me then :D I hope this gets fixed though. In rxTools, can it access eShop? maybe something to do with the dbs title.db and import.db?

I've never had any of my DLC wiped from my emunand after accessing the e-shop. I've never tried going to the specific games dlc section either though.

My Emunand & Sysnand are unlinked. From what I understood, that solved the eshop data wipe / data management wipe as well.

I'll try accessing the main eShop on the Home Menu to check :D

UPDATE: eShop on Home Menu deletes DLC :(

I think we need a way to fix the .db of titles we "own".

Has anyone opened them in something like sqlite etc and played around.

eShop controls if your data are legit or not and deletes the files not downloaded from eShop (I think also legit cia)

I update games from eshop all the time?

Do you mean they compare your .db with the server .db tied to your console for dlc? Games can also update directly without eshop although i have used eshop updates without an issue? why would they not then delete your illegitimate cia's as well. I assume there is a work around.

Last time i fixed an issue like this was innotab and leapfrog.

But anyway we need to look deeper into the issue...

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Zoogie seems versed on the working of the 3ds protocols, i'd say he can clarify some of this.

So it is a common problem then, and it seems theres still no workaround found?

Seems only for dlc or paid content, never had an issue with game updates, demo's, etc..

Never had anything disappear including dlc when just accessing eshop for an update and i have an old and new 3ds with almost full 64g each of personally ripped cias and have used eshop heaps. I do make my own cias from downloaded roms with my own zorpads, only due to not trusting other peoples cia's, but i don't think that's an issue..

I have never tried getting legit dlc on a ripped game but guess something in the .db for paid content, like dlc, is missing the proper validation.

A work around should be able unless it's tied to a console id or account.

I would personally stay, although i don't, away from internet on cfw, gateway, if possible.

There are so many things that 'flag' our console for a ban wave it's not funny.

Internet should only be used on a hacked console for crucial things like emunand updates.

in your N3DS, I'm assuming you're using GW EmuNAND? cause when I installed Smash DLC and updated MiiVerse, the DLC was deleted :(

Alright, so I just installed the 1.1.cia patch to SSB4 - Connected online - closed the game - connected to the e-shop - start SSB4 backup & still on 1.1 with online access. (So installed cia data wasn't erased)

All i've done is unlinked my Sys from Emu, i've never had a problem with the e-shop removing any of my installed patches / updates. :|

It's 2 completely different things.
Updates won't get deleted. DLC gets deleted.

You are partially right that DLC don't get wiped. That applies to some games only for some reason and some not. But it has nothing to do with linking and unlinking nands. That's only for the data management bug.

Some examples:
- try installing Super Smash DLC, then go to eshop. It WILL get erased.
- Themes are a type of DLC. It will also gets erased everytime you got to shop.
- street plaza dlc, Final Fantasy Theatrythm and curtain call, they all don't get deleted when getting into eshop.

As for what others were suggesting, modifying any .dbs file won't change anything. The correct info is what @EmanueleBGN mentioned above: eshop checks the data you own when you connect. But I think he's wrong on the legit CIA part. I don't think those get deleted
