Every time I throw the 3DS on the ground, when I open it up the theme fades to the original theme, and sometimes my icons disappear.
Is there any way to stop this from happening?
Yes. Just glue the SD card inside the slot so it will stop moving around when you throw your 3DS on the floor. Make sure you don't get it on the contacts though.
But seriously, you're going to break it if you keep doing that. Nintendo handhelds can take a lot of abuse, but there's a limit.

You're clearly not throwing it hard enough. Try from a taller building (make sure it doesn't hit anyone on the way down). Once you get the proper force, it will never reset the theme again.

Better if he has someone down there to inspect it, like me....with something soft.....and a car for when I'm ready to leave....

Sometimes my 3DS falls out of my pocket and I accidentally slam it into the ground. I'm afraid of losing my save data because of SD card problems.
The sd card is likely to survive from anything, since the 3ds gets all the damages lool

I suggest playing less difficult games to prevent rage quitting. That way, there's no reason to throw your 3ds anywhere unless you're... No, there'd be no reason to throw your 3ds at all. :yaysp:

i know pokemon means pocket monster, but that doesn't mean you should carry it on your pocket..
instead of patch the problem, you should prevent it enterly..
a theme going back to default option is the least of the problems you will have if you continue letting that happening

don't you like to carry a bag? maybe you should get another set of clothes with better pockets? or get a girfriend to carry your 3ds on her purse? ask your mom\dad\grandma to save your 3ds while you going to play "not video games" ?

I tightened the screws in my 3DS and dropped it like 10 times, it seems to not happen anymore.

Edit: oh, I noticed this topic moved to another forum.

Status update: in the last 3 years, I've switched to a EmuNAND setup. I've dropped my 3DS quite a bit during that time period (slipped out of pockets), and my theme never resets to the original theme and my icons do not disappear. It seems that EmuNAND is the fix for this problem.
