So smea has been very busy lately. He's been teasing a lot of things, but it's still really unclear what his plans are.

He's teased about 3 or 4 things so far:
  • First was TDVS a save data editing tool.
  • Second was freehax a way to install ninjhax to the device only requiring Cubic Ninja initially. It was hinted and highly speculated that this would be through a free eShop game.
  • Third launching NH 2.0 through OoThax.
  • Finally ironhax homebrew the the free eShop game Iron Fall. Now here's where things start to get sort of ambiguous. It's unclear whether or not this is actually freehax or it's something different.
Now a the moment there appears to be two possibilities for Ironhax:

One it is indeed freehax and will require Cubic Ninja or OoT for the first install. This has been hinted by smealum here.

Two it is a completely new stand alone entry point relying only in Iron Fall. Hinted at by smealum here and here.

The second possibility is interesting because it most likely means smea found a new entry point while working on freehax completely negating his previous statements.

There seems to be a lot misinformation floating around about which it will be, but the truth is we do not know. We can probably expect to here more smealum about of the next few days and hopefully we'll see this new exploit by the end of the week.

If someone tells you what ironhax will or will not require they are probably wrong and just speculating! Because the only one who knows is smealum!

The save data editing tool is TDVS, not TVDS. Great post, btw. Hopefully this will clear all these misconceptions.
OOPS! Thank's I've corrected it! I hope clears misconceptions also. Everyone seems to be walking around with an idea of what's happening, but the truth is we just don't know.

We know all this already. There's like 8 threads about it.
Yeah, but all the threads really misconstruing what we actually know about what smea and people a discussing it like it's definetly going to work one way or the other. When actually we know pretty much nothing about smea's plans.

Yeah, there's alot if speculation, and also hype. I think anyone that was truly interrested would do their research. Anyway, I'll see myself out. Sorry for the intrusion.

When I played Cyberpunk on my old 2080 Ti it sucked lol

AMD could introduce something comparable to DLSS but nvidia's got a lot more experience with that
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
least amd 7xxx has tensor cores which the previous generations didn't so there is the potential for AI upscaling
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
They have FSR or whatever it's called and yeah it's still not great
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
so AMD seem to finally be starting to take AI seriously
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Oh yeah those new 8000 CPUs have AI cores built in that's interesting
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Maybe they plan on offloading to the CPU?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Would be kinda cool to have the CPU and GPU working in random more
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Tandem even
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i think i heard of that, it's a good idea, shouldn't need a dedicated GPU just to run a LLM or video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the nvidia shield tv has AI video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
LLMs can be run on cpu anyway but it's quite slow

Have you ever been beaten by a wet spaghetti noodle by your girlfriend because she has a twin sister, and you got confused and fucked her dad?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I had a girlfriend who had a twin sister and they would mess with me constantly.... Until one chipped a tooth then finally I could tell them apart.... Lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
They would have the same hair style the same clothes everything... Really messed with my head lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
@The Real Jdbye, I could see AMD trying to pull off the CPU GPU tandem thing, would be a way to maybe close the gap a bit with Nvidia. Plus it would kinda put Nvidia at a future disadvantage since Nvidia can't make X86/64 CPUs? Intel and AMD licensing issues... I wonder how much that has held back innovation.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i don't think nvidia wants to get in the x64 cpu market anyways
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
you've seen how much intel is struggling getting into the gpu market
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
and nvidia is already doing ARM
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i don't think they want to take more focus away from their gpus
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah I think Nvidia s future lays in AI GPU acceleration stuff if they can get that going it's going to be super interesting in the long term
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
AI assisted game creation might become a thing
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
At least that's something I think would be pretty cool.
