Hacking How to Get eShop Working on a NA New3DS XL Region-changed Japanese EmuNAND 9.5

But after I did all that I got the Error Code: 005-5602
I looked it up and it says that it's because the region is set wrong or something. So what should I do? I tried changing the region in System Settings, but nothing works. D:

Anyways, IIRC eShop access isn't possible on region changed consoles.

It's very possible. It's just kind of a funky process to get it to work.

I think that you might be messing up when following those instructions, since there's no reason it shouldn't work. I'll find the better tutorial for you later tonight. It actually has the steps and explanations.

Due to every n3ds having pre installed content eShop is unavailable until someone comes up with a serial number spoof or something similar

The SD card trick should work on the OLD3DS no problem.

So I tried it on a regular 3ds with no preinstalled games and the 3 SD card swap eshop trick works on a region changed emunand

N3DS units always have a piece of software bundled, though not a game. It means you need YifanLu level of power to rig anything and even then it's quite possible to break.

The eternal question, though: "Why use eShop when you're already using EmuNAND?"

The NTR debugger write I gave does the trick and rewrites the serial number in memory... it just doesn't do anything. IIRC, once an NNID is involved, serial is basically irrelevant.

It's irrelevant, it won't do anything and it won't make eshop work. To do much on the eShop though, you want NNID.
If I can be bothered, I may hunt my IRC logs for some older YifanLu knowledge. What's stated so far is the case though.

I only rewrite my serial because I'm a bad bad person and used a public SecureInfo_A and I want to.
