Hi everyone  I'll try to be as clear as possible...

OK, so I have a O3DS with a Gateway in a Emunand 9.8

I've two Mario Kart 7 .3DS Roms, the USA version and the EUROPEAN version

As for the USA one, I have a savegame with more than 10000 VR in .SAV file that I've backuped using SaveDataFiler. (I found it on the internet)

But the EUR version is an "empty" save (nothing unlocked, just created with my gateway), I've also extracted it with SDF

(I saw the tutorials here on Gbatemp to avoid broken CTR card etc etc)

SO,
there is two folder in SD/filer/UserData

    • 20150728175151 ( THE USA VERSION )
      • 00000308
        • replay
        • replay_
        • system8.dat
        • system9.dat
      • 00000308.dat
      • 00000308_.dat
      • export.txt

    • 20150728180415 (THE EUR VERSION )
      • 00000307
        • replay
        • replay_
        • system1.dat
        • system2.dat
      • 00000307.dat
      • 00000307_.dat
      • export.txt
I want to put the save files from USA into EUR, and re-inject it with SDF, you should know that I already try some things:

  • For example, I copied everything from the 00000308 folder (namely replay / replay_ / system8.dat and system9.dat) into the 00000307 folder, and it import it (whether I change system8 and system9 to system1 and system2 or not) BUT it changes nothing in the game
  • So I decided to replace only 00000307.dat and 00000307_.dat by the 00000308.dat and 00000308_.dat (I obviously renamed it) but this time, SDF doesn't want to import the save
So I'm stuck here with my two saves

Someone can help me ?:P Thank you !

Make a save on the EUR version. Install NTR as a cia as well as the save plug in. Hold L and boot the usa game. This will dump your save. Now do the same thing for the USA save. Now on the sd card just switch the data in the two mk7 title id folders. Once done boot the eur rom and hold R and you should be good

Well I'm not 100% sure but it says to hit the home button so I would listen to it before it changes it's mind. Once you click home you can then load the roms from the multi rom menu and hold L trigger before loading the rom. Make sure you have the save plug in and you will know it works when it flashes green and then makes you click a to continue to the rom

It works !
It seems that with NTR 3.0 the plugin and .bin files should be on the big SD card and not in the micro anymore !

Thanks! and thank you for your patience

So that save plugin CAN be used for more than just retail carts. It's a plus for Gateway users.
1. Does this work for card2 games?
2. Does this work to switch between a rom with a header to a rom with no header?

This all seems so much easier than using the SaveDataFiler trick.

I like ntr because it only touches the user save data and not all the extras.

Yes it should work on all of the above

When using an o3ds and gateway only .3ds/z roms go on the micro sd card

Yeah of course, I was referring to the NTR files, in 2.0 version it says to put it on micro SD but it seems that it changes :)

SylverReZ @ SylverReZ: Also nice. Never really watched Fallout on Prime, but sounds like a good show. +1
