First of all, I'd like to apologize if this is wrong part of the forum to ask a question that is probably annoying and frequently asked all too often here.

I recently purchased this monstrosity: http://www.r4isdhc.hk/r4-product/
Yep, a fake Chinese knock-off R4, this exact one (SDHC RTS LITE). I live in a place that's super hard to get a 3DS, games and even getting this R4 was a mission. At first, I thought it worked like the first NDS (Download game, put file on SD card, play game). Clearly, it failed miserably.

I then began to read up on what I had to do to make it work. Because of the nature of this fake version, I couldn't get anything to work. Luckily, I had an SD card with the relevant files to people able to download normal DS games off it. After following countless links and reading stickies and other threads, I've become thoroughly confused because of the technical lingo and generally being technologically impaired.

tl;dr - I need some assistance with getting 3DS games working on this fake R4.
If anyone could mention a couple of links that, point me in the right direction or directly list the steps I should take, I'd appreciate it a lot. You might need to explain it in the most simplistic way possible.

3DS ROMs will not work with that card. That card is a DS mode cartridge, and as such, only NDS ROMs will work. You need to purchase a Gateway or Sky 3DS card (or one of their clones) to play 3DS backups.

Custom Firmware anyone?
rxTools, etc?
Are you really gonna suggest the poor guy buying another flashcard when he says it is almost impossible wherever he lives?
CFW would be the better option in his case.

As somebody who lives in a rural part of the same country as the OP, I can safely say there is no issue importing flashcarts. There's no way I'd recommend CFW to somebody who hasn't even read enough to purchase the right flashcard for the task. A Sky 3DS is the safest option for OP. Plug and play, and no fear of updating. Perfect for those who just want to pirate games without any hassle.

I don't live in Argentina. Just saying.
That said, he sure needs to do some reading.

Yeah, you are going to want to get a nice pair of reading glasses and get familiar with the 3DS hacking section. If anyone on the internet can help you, its us. You just have to meet us halfway and have a decent reading comprehension ability.

Also I am tempted to change the OP's name to "Eternal Struggle" :bortz:
