It´s been 7 months since Nintendo 3ds 9.3 firmware was released. We all know what (patches) did it came with. During this 7 months, how much progress do we have reached on the 9.3 fw scene (not counting emunand)? Is there still any hope for CFW, CIA installing etc? What kind of hombrew development will ninjhax 2.0 reach? Let´s talk

Well, Ninjhax 2.0 just came out which is basically a new exploit. So depending on what you want, right now you're set, or probably another 2-4 months before we see any emuNAND/CFW kind of fruit from Smea's labor.

No. Ninjhax 2.0 is still just the first 2 exploits from the first one (vulnerability in cubic ninja, and gspwn). Permissions are very limited, and there's no public ARM11 kernel or Process9 exploit.

Still the only hack we've got on 9.3+,after 7 months, and it is like you've said, just the first 2 exploits. Well, many of us have the sky3ds, and it's something at least. But i don't know if having passed 7 months means we are getting closer or it meand that there is no hope

Ninjhax 2.0 does region free game compatibility to Sky 3DS. which is a big news for Sky owner's.

"Will ninjhax 2.0 reach?" Thats a silly way of asking if its compatible. No one knows anything. But if you want rumors than I can say all kinds of shit.

Spider is. Userland though.
firmlaunch hax is still available on 9.4. You need arm11 kernel to get to it though.
If there's another arm11 kexploit, then we get arm9 hax on that firm. Would be good for new n3ds buyers mainly.

Lets wait for what GW team comes up with for 9.3+. The cfw people will meanwhile continue to improve 9.2 cfw and keep the pressure on them to innovate.
For now, I'm really happy with the current cfw/flashcart scene, no-one thought that the 3ds would be fully hacked beyond 4.5 ever.

If memory serves, the SALT team has/had made some progress.

I have a vague recollection of @shinyquagsire23 saying that those on 9.5 should make a NAND dump and to not update past that point or they'd regret it.

I'm not sure if the progress was made by Shiny himself or @WulfyStylez/@Dazzozo.

Not that it matters, it went from "we're probably going to disclose it", to "we're unsure if we're going to disclose it", to "we're not going to disclose it" in the space of a couple of pages.

(Which was absolutely the right choice in my opinion, it's pure shortsighted stupidity to burn exploits unnecessarily)

That's the one, and only, time I can recall anyone hinting at 9.3+ exploits being discovered.

If people want piracy CFW's so bad on newer firmware, then buy a SKY3DS. Cubic Ninja ROM allows Homebrew via Ninjhax 2.0, and the cart itself allows .3DS files to be run.

The existence of threads like this don't offend me, what offends me is that people keep updating their systems for some short-sighted reason or dumb mistake and expect a brilliant hack to pop up instantly to cover for their f-up.

I think it had something to do with the Hardware exploit that they found. Not completely sure if it is related but it may.
