So apparently Itagaki is now trying to hype the one thing people haven't had a chance to trash: the multiplayer. Supposedly it will support 16 people matches and no voice chat. None of that is all that amazing surprising, but the rest of the article contains some choice bits. He thinks the Wii U gamepad is a bad controller for the game (lolok), claims the game runs at a stable 30 FPS (in what mode and when, exactly?), and that it uses the full power of the Wii U, which sounds totally legitimate if we just pretend the Wii U has the maximum capability of the Xbox 360 when it was two years old.

He does seem quite uninformed but I concur with the following:

the GamePad is not suitable for many hours of play

I agree with this sentiment which is why I've used the WUPC to play Yoshi's Woolly World from start to finish. GamePad just isn't ideal as a controller for me, it's too heavy for long gaming sessions and the battery is only 8hrs (or less if you watch Netflix and leave it on).

Except it wasn't just a rumor. Do you see the gap in releases here? NoA was not at all prepared to publish the game. This timeframe indicates them starting the process from scratch.

NoA is releasing because they must have received a considerable amount of backlash from people who probably won't even purchase the game so next time NoA`s better to think twice than listening to stupid fans.

Everyone that got preview copies (= full game) back then also said it was a really bad game. At best it looks like a PS2 title upscaled in HD and at worse an N64.

Edit: Not just the graphics that look garbage but the rest too. Voice acting is, hm...
