ROM Hack [REQUEST] Someone interested in making a Translation of "Daigyakuten Saiban"?

Hey Guys,

I've just checked the files inside of the romfs of "Daigyakuten Saiban - Naruhodou Ryuunosuke no Bouken".

I saw that the files should be really easy to edit (romfs:/script/ & romfs:/msg/).
This files have a .gmd-fileextension and they're almost completely readable when you're convert it to UTF8.
Here are some Screenshots of it:

I think it should be possible to create a simple text-editor for that.
Would be epic to see a translation of this Game.

I'm not working on this because I've enough to do with our Fire Emblem if - Fan Translation

yep, that's one of the projects I COULD start after translating FE:if

I use EditPad Pro to open this files and convert them to UTF8.
I've NOT edited this files yet because I have no tools to convert them to txt/reconvert them to gmd or even a GMD-Editor.
Just editing them with EditPad Pro won't work.

If someone does this you will be the most awesome person ever. I always wanted to learn japanese but at 28 my brain isnt quite picking things up like it used to. I know its still possible but it just get harder to learn and i procrastinate too much. Not to mention i have no idea where to start that would be free.

I do know a little bit but its not impressive. I can count to ten and say basic greetings and sorry. But thats about it.

Try Livemocha, not suire if they still free, bt just google " free japanese learning" you can get a good start, but ifyou are the one that procastinate, like me, if you can afford it , pay for lessons somewhere near you , would work better

I've been lurking this site for a while, and made an account recently, but I'd love to help translate in any way. I've been playing the game recently and it does seem to be text heavy, but I'm having almost zero issues reading anything (except for a couple of kanji here and there lol).

How would I go about decrypting the game? I own a physical copy but don't know where to start (I also have a 2DS with rxTools, so I think that'll help too).

Edit: I found out how to decrypt the game. I don't know what tools to use to open the files though.

Ignore my previous post. I extracted all of the files mentioned in the OP. I have no way to edit them or inject them back though. I'll start translating tonight by copy-pasting the text into a separate text document until I figured out how to inject it back.

if you have any technical difficulties I'll try to help (thou I'm not a professional ROM hacker, at least I'm an IT guy)

I might be wrong, but I'm wondering if the textboxes are adjusted to japanese characters and might need adjustement to fit in more english characters for the translations.
Kudos to you for making this work, I am excited and glad to see that an english translation of this game is definitely possible soon after its release. Thank you.
