EDIT: Solution Found
the cover has to be named xxxx.smc.png - You're not renaming the png suffix to smc as well are you?? :lol:

It seems that nearly everyone who wrote a guide or made a video had their file extensions hidden in their folder options.

I'm ashamed to have not figured this out myself, I tried everything but this. I know a lot of people have had problems with this because I've seen posts searching, so here's the solution for anyone in google.

Have you tried refreshing your cache since re-naming the files?

If so, could you post your snes9xgx .ini?

Is your wiiflow.ini pointing to SD for covers?

My wiiflow.ini has this path
dir_box_covers=sd:/wiiflow/boxcovers

My snes9xgx.ini is the default that comes with Wiiflow Masterpiece.
[PLUGIN]
displayname=SNES9xGX
magic=534e4553
coverfolder=snes9xgx
dolfile=snes9xgx-mod11.dol
romdir=snes9xgx/roms
filetypes=.smc|.fig|.sfc|.swc|.zip|.7z
consolecoverid=nintendo
covercolor=01a300
bannersound=SNES.ogg
arguments={device}:/{path}|{name}|{loader}

But I may have an idea! The ini is named
snes9x-gx.ini
and there's another names
snes9x_next.ini

Imma try renaming one and deleting the other,

On second thought it might be smarter if I just changed the boxart snes9xgx folder to sne9sx-gx

Dang tried it refreshed catche and everything no luck at all.

!!! AHHH maybe! Maybe! I know!

Ok I changed the file path in the ini to point to the boxart snesx9gx folder and still no luck after a refresh of cache it's still all blank.

Whelp I'm officially out of ideas.

I've put my AvP Alien vs. Predator.smc 3d box cover (the one recommended for Wiiflow) in my sd:\snesx9gx folder, in the wiiflow WiiFlow\covers folder (both with and without a copy in the snesx9gx folder) of course one in the WiiFlow\boxcovers\snes9xgx\ folder AND the root boxcovers folder, the rom name and image name should match perfectly extension and all (I have extensions enabled by default in folder options), and every time I reboot the wii and refresh the catche. I'm at a complete loss here, I've had this problem from day one before I even got the wifi set up, I'd hoped Wifi would enable me to just download the covers but it errors.

Is there any list of things I have to name my roms to get the covers to download? I can't figure out where to place the boxart or how to set it up for SNES (and Genesis/GBA) for the life of me.

On a positive note, who needs WiiFit when you can run back and forth across a house unplugging and plugging in your SD card?

Has anyone been able to get SNES covers to work in Wiiflow Masterpiece? I have the PGN's downloaded from here and I name them exactly (file extensions and all) to what they are supposed to be according to every tutorial I've seen

So I have like
USB1:\snes9xgx\roms\Alien vs. Predator.smc
Which is supposed to draw this cover
SD:\WiiFlow\boxcovers\snes9xgx\Alien vs. Predator.smc
But it still gets the generic blank cover.

I've tried placing copies in several different folders, no luck.

only the name has to be the same, not the file extension.
The cover needs to be in .png file format, not .smc

so, the correct is:

rom:
USB1:\snes9xgx\roms\Alien vs. Predator.smc

cover:
SD:\WiiFlow\boxcovers\snes9xgx\Alien vs. Predator.png

Err, what? Is this a new masterpiece only thing? Coz if it isn't you're wrong I'm afraid....
OP: Are you sure you're using the snes9xgx plugin, as in selecting the right one? I did a similar thing back in my Wii newbie days with Genesis covers, ending up realising I'd picked the other emulator... just to make sure, open up and edit the snes9x next ini, and change the coverfolder to the same one in the 9xgx ini. Reload cache.

Another idea (though I'll have to giggle if you've really done it) is similar to the one Leo Alves has posted: the cover has to be named xxxx.smc.png - You're not renaming the png suffix to smc as well are you?? :lol:

That was exactly the problem, thank you so much!

I'm ashamed to have not thought of this, it seems all the guides I happened across were written by people who have their extensions automatically hidden in their folder options.
