I don't even get what NoA is doing with that one. I mean, mid-October for NA? Really? I'm sure someone at NoA who has never heard of the internet thought it was a stellar idea lol
You'll be surprised how many time they have to spend changing "colour" to "color", "centre" to "center" and so on.

If that's the case they could just auto-check which should be a fairly quick process but Centre and Colour are too used in US but not a whole lot due to 'Center' and 'Color' being more popular and the 'proper' way spelt there.

I know, this was just pure sarcasm. a simple replace word function would do to change every instance and the testing shouldn't take much since YWW isn't exactly a text heavy game.
the thing is that Nintendo of America apparently still think that they have some control of the situation and do whatever they want. the approach they have taken with the three games of Operation Rainfall in the past and Devil's Third now demonstrate that.

Now that I remember, there's also the slangs that differ from Spanish of Spain to Spanish of Mexico so these kind of references if remained intact people over at Latin America wouldn't get it and would instead try to look up what it means.

Still, it's pretty small stuff that shouldn't take them so friggin' long.

As an American, I can safely say it takes legitimate effort to notice when British English spelling is used over American English spelling.
As a dislexic, its hard to read.

Anyways I am glad we are getting this. I cant imagine its going to be all that good, but I think its just the right amount of crazy im looking for. Cant describe it, just looks like a bloody party.

Not only between Spain and Mexico but every latin american country have his own mannerisms and sometimes are very hard to translate from country to country.
for example: someone "badass" in Spain is someone "macarra" or "cabron", in Mexico "cabron" in also used but you can also say someone "chingon" and here in Chile it would be someone "choro" or "chorizo".
the synonymous of "cool"(cool of something awesome or nice, not of cold) in Spain is "guay", in Mexico is "chido" and in Chile is "bacan".
when someone is really stupid you say is an "asshole", in Spain is "gilipollas", in Mexico is "guey", "weon" is also used but less, here in Chile is "weon" and in Argentina is "boludo". in the case of Mexico and Chile (at least that I know, not sure about Spain and Argentina) "guey" and "weon" is also used to refer to someone (normally if you have confidence with it) without calling it by name without being an insult.
but in all above cases there are more words with the same use. that's it for today lessons :teach:.
and that is why we almost always just receive Spain spanish translations. is too complicated or impossible translate using slang terms, practically every country would need his own localization. but when latin american translations are delivered are normally quite neutral or with the most commonly known mannerisms of Mexico, since there is where localization is done and I'm fine with it, everyone is used to Mexican localizations. but most (90% I think) people here hate Spain spanish with a passion.

That's bullshit, do not believe this crap, if there going to release the game in Europe then they will release it in the US as well
Disaster: Day of Crisis

It was a game about Americans, had American voice actors, took place in America, was awesome like America. It was not released in America.

Yeah, it is just as Sakitoshi says, variation in slang in Spanish is way wider than in English, and you would probably get lost if you spoke Argentinian Spanish and tried to follow Mexicans talking in close slang.
Yeah, you would probably get lost.
But we kind of agreed to use something we call "neutral Spanish" for translations, a language nobody in the world speaks, but all of us Latin Americans understand, it's like our version of Esperanto.

Also, kudos to this CoreSublime guy. He really made his point through with the English part of the video.

Today I learned that chorizo is badass.
Wait, I already knew that..

Well, that depends, to add more to the Babylonian aspect of Spanish, in Argentina that could actually mean thief.

Have you ever tasted jamón/presunto? Way better than chorizo/chouriço. :P

The plot thickens:

I have a feeling that there is a really big miscommunication somewhere along the chain of command at NoA. This tweet completely contradicts every action NoA has taken, as well as the information that Siliconera reached out and verified. Either NoA is still trying to take credit despite passing the buck to a different publisher, NoA saw the outcry from various sources and decided to hold onto the game, or their PR person is just woefully uninformed.

It's interesting to see that there's so much interest in this game but in the end if it comes short it'll be nothing but low scores and constant bashing, which I wouldn't be surprised because by the looks of it the game doesn't look very good. Voice acting is laughable.

I know, right? I mean, I've seen some places pretty much erupting over this, saying things like "why does Nintendo hate mature content" and "how dare they be the fun police" when just days before, the same people were commenting about how the game didn't look very fun, and how they probably weren't going to actually buy and play it.

Best case scenario, Devil's Third can still be better than Sonic Boom so that's an achievement for DT. lol
