July 10th UPDATE: Siliconera has confirmed that NoA is indeed leaving Devil's Third behind. Another publisher has apparently picked up the game, but we'll have to see how that all pans out in the coming month as reviews for the game start appearing and the game begins releasing in the rest of the world. As of now, it doesn't seem Devil's Third is entirely dead in North America, but there are still no details on any kind of release date.

Thanks to @Ryupower for the update.

I'm reporting this as a rumor simply because it can't be confirmed as truth yet, but on youtube, Unseen64 Tamaki, apparently a fairly reliable source for insider information, announced that NoA has dropped all plans to publish Devil's Third in North America. This seems plausible after the game listing was pulled from the NA Wii U eshop future releases list two weeks ago. You can watch the video explaining the situation below:

He also mentions that, at least he has heard, that the game suffers from framerate issues and graphics that look two generations old. All in all, the game could be a bit of a lemon, although reviews for the game will become available June 15th that can either confirm or deny these as being issues prevalent in what is basically the final product.

This doesn't guarantee that Devil's Third isn't coming to NA, but the prospects are currently looking pretty bleak.

Huh, so Devil's Third pretty broken.. bummer. I was planning on pre-ordering but now, not so much any more.

I've got to agree that the voice acting I heard from this game (via the trailer) was mediocre and just not acceptable by today's standards.

That's bullshit, do not believe this crap, if there going to release the game in Europe then they will release it in the US as well, come on surely you don't believe the hyped up YouTube video???? do not believe some random video and the Sony fanboy!!!

Edit: just because its been pulled from e-shop does not mean shit!!! things get pulled from e-shop and back on again all the time.

The only thing this nathandrake has anything to say about Nintendo products is just to put them down, nothing ever good comes out from him! I've only ever read hate comments from him! But talk Sony products, hes the biggest arse licker going!!!

Let's face it

D3rd wasn't going to help/save the wiiu
It was plagued for many reasons
It was going to be a huge disappointment for everyone

Nintendo was smart for not releasing a mediocre game that would be the equivalent to the duke nukem game on ps3/36

At the same time I don't believe sh!t like tamaki and unseen64 TBH

Well since it probably will suck no one will want to play it anyway
The short gameplay vids I saw looked kinda fun so if I find it for a reasonable price then I'll take my chances and pre-order it.

you can just import it guys...O wait :creep:
Just like Yoshi's Woolly World. :P

The game is still in the e-shop just search it and it comes up it just been moved from the future releases section and I'm sure it has to do with fatal frame being released soon and how it does overseas,so that you know it has not been completely removed just moved, well the trailer is still there I just checked

That's still not good. Why would they remove the game from the future releases section? There is no rationale for that beyond them considering the removal of Devil's Third from the NA Wii U lineup. It isn't as if the game is some omg AAA title that would outshine the new super niche Fatal Frame title so they have to hide Devil's Third away for the sake of sales everywhere. The facts as we have them:

Devil's Third is slated for a release next month in both Europe and Japan.
The Japanese release is an Amazon exclusive.
The European release isn't even bothering to include all the more standard European languages, instead opting to only have English and French, with the French being text only.
NoA has been suspiciously silent about Devil's Third, ignoring it at E3 and now removing it from future releases on the eshop.
Edit: I forgot to mention that the game has not even been rated by the ESRB yet, which you can confirm yourself by checking the ESRB website.

Nintendo does not expect this game to sell well. At all. They're limiting sales in Japan to only a single online retailer, and the European version is so gimped in terms of languages that it probably won't sell worth a damn in many European countries to anybody except those relatively fluent in English. To top it off, the NA version is being entirely ignored. It seems obvious that Nintendo is eager to wash their hands of Devil's Third and be done with it, really.

I don't even get what NoA is doing with that one. I mean, mid-October for NA? Really? I'm sure someone at NoA who has never heard of the internet thought it was a stellar idea lol
for years you guys have been getting games before us and we had to wait. now the tables have turned! :creep:

There were actually people who would buy this? WiiU owners must be really desperate, no offense.
The games seemed to me like a better WET, at least they showed nothing else what could be that new or fresh.

Prove me wrong, but there are enough games from that genre already out there. What makes this one outstanding? Multiplayer?

This has been an issue for many years and folks from Portugal/Brazil get even less chances to have the game in their language than Spanish gamers, and really, this shouldn't be happening with a company so profitable.

A Spanish dude that I'm subscribed to made a rant video about it, it's interesting to say the least.

We had to wait a few more months for Rainbow Curse and in the end I just didn't give a shit about it at all, so just like you've said it, US gamers gotta wait now. These delays suck, though.

The game looks like it could be fun to play so there might be potential to it.
