Hacking 8.1 JP N3DS - is there potential for a region switch?

I currently have a Euro white N3DS that I use Gateway on. I also got an 8.1 JP N3DS earlie this year for the potential to completely switch the region. Is that possible at some point in the near future?

If it is, should I switch it to Euro firmware to have the most compatibility with my game saves, or would that matter? Like if I switched it to USA would I still be able to transfer all my game saves?

I have a ton of customers in Korea town in Los Angeles that want region swaps. I also bought a few non xl units and resold them as USA units locally per request

Did eshop work or was it still buggy, because I'd definitely get a small N3DS regionswapped if it would work the exact same as a regular US console.

No eshop until someone can dump the secure a file from an n3ds. I can only get the default region eshop on system nand

I'm pretty sure once Karl3ds/Salt is released, or when RXTOOLS hits the N3DS, then we'd be able to.

'until'? well first of all you don't need a n3ds's secureinfo file, any3ds is fine, and we can dump these files on an n3ds, we have been able to publically decrypt the n3ds's nand for at least a couple of months

Then what's stopping us? I remember reading a post a while back that you posted to a github by yellow8 about region change on the o3ds and hinted at eshop support but was always under the presumption it was a sec a problem. Please teach me professor fish

ok so, I send you a system, and it will be more or less region free? I won't need Gatway/sky3ds at hand or anything like that, I can just play it and enjoy?

You will need gateway or sky3ds / cubic ninja and the system has to be at 9.2 or less when you send it. Also if you decide to update you will lose eshop support unless tou get a hard mod and flash back if things change

3ds units are my lowest profiting system. I make my money on wii / dream cast / ds carts
