Hacking [QUESTION]It's possible to create a USA Emunand on a Japanese / European 3DS?

Question is on the title:
is it possible to create a USA emunand on a jap/eur 3DS?
I want a new O3DS, i found a guy on ebay selling a japanese 3DS with 2.0 Firmware, so, if i update it to 4.x i can do the Emunand with signed rxtools (rxpasta)?

EDIT: It's totally possible, i did it. Thanks to @VerseHell that helped me! I compiled his tutorial, you can here it below:

1. Use the gateway launcher to create your emunand (format emunand)

2. Do setup rxTools (don't update your emunand) and use it to get your nand xorpad (Decryption Options -> Generate fat16 Xorpad). Copy it on your PC

3. Use rxTools to inject FBI over your H&S app in emunand (read the readme)

4. Download BigBlueMenu.cia, put it on your sd card root, then start the rxMode

5. Use FBI to install BigBlueMenu


6. Download the 4.3.0-10U cia pack with 3DNUS and remove the ones starting with : 0004001B, 0004800F, 00048005, 00040130 and 00040138.

7. Copy the 4.3.0-10 folder on your sd card root.

8. Launch the rxMode again, and use it to install all the cia in the 4.3.0-10 folder, then do a format system memory while in emunand (check if you see the RX-E first)

9. Extract your emuNAND from SD card, inject into emuNAND target region 'SecureInfo_A' from donor system using 3DS NAND SecureInfo Tool, insert emuNAND back to SD.

10. Now boot into your emunand again. It should boot in english.



AFTER THAT, YOU SHOULD HAVE A UNSTABLE EMUNAND. UPDATE IT TO 9.8 AND DELETE THE REMAINING TITLES WITH FBI:


Boot into your 9.8 emunand, start FBI and delete all theses titles (in NAND mode) :

This is a difficult task, so take care to not delete a wrong file. The ID of some of these files should contain the "j" character in the front of their names.

After the deletes, restart your 3ds and enter in your emunand. It should be just fine. BACKUP YOUR EMUNAND NOW! It's the final and perfect 9.8 USA emunand version. =)

it is possible to change regions sure, no need to make your question that specific.
and yes you can update it to 4.x if you want, maybe you will need a game cart to update it to that though, i'm not sure. but it is possible

I need to search a way to update to 2.2 i guess... I know a store that sells Mario Kart 7 and New Super Mario Bros 2 japanese carts, these games come with updates?
I think that my biggest challenge is the update.

PS.: if i change the Emunand Region i could play USA cartridges with it?

even if u use jap emunand, u can play usa games.

Yes, but mixing game and console region can cause odd language problems. For a more simple doing things, it's easier to region change.
Plus, O3DS region changes actually have a reasonable chance at eShop access, so I heard while region changing my N3DS.

When did I state it wasn't? I stated O3DS units (which OP clearly would have, being FW 2.0) have a chance of being able to use it, which may be important since the first goal listed is carts.
Since carts are legit, one may think that OP might want to use the eShop, which may at least be possible if not annoying to get going.

Ok, i have a friend who have Professor Layton X Ace Attorney japanese cart, that game update it to 4.3 = PROFIT.

So, i can play USA carts with USA emunand on JAP console? yay.
What about e-shop? I can't use it, right? Well, i can download .cia updates and demos, for what i would use eshop besides that?

you are asking what eshop is good for? well sure, you can depend on others to get you content from eshop and give it in cia form.
but, if you do not want to depend on others, want to get legit updates/content that don't need hacks to run, buy games, then you need eshop access

Just got th 3DS, updated it to 4.3 and now i am making the sysnand backup with gateway launcher.
Don't know where to start first, but... hahaha

I found that trick too, it involves SDcards...
well, for now i don't have such a hurry for eshop, i am worried with changing the region of the Emunand (couldnt found the updated tutorial yet).

And you can do the eshop trick with one sd card if you use emunand tool.

You will need a 4.x game from japan to update it as the 3DS is region locked.
