Hacking FLashing emunand region eur to jap O3DS?

Hello

I've changed the emunand region of a japanese O3DS XL to eur region. Using gateway menu Is it possible and not too risky to flash the eur emunand to the jap system nand to have a 3ds completely in french?
If the eshop doesn't work after it doesn't bother me.

Hi, how did you swap the emunand region to EUR? I have a TAIWAN O3ds which i would like to do the same.

The problem I can think of is that to flash emunand over system nand you need firm0/1 from system nand of the same region

Depends how you changed it. If you injected a proper, signed SecureInfo_A, then you might be able to (barring other issues with the process that I may be unaware of).
If you just modified it, though (or inject a legit one and then modify it...) the sig will break and it'll be a brick if on SysNAND.

IIRC you can flash 4.x emunand over system nand. This might be a fix for the firm0/1 issue.

@dkabot just remember before you can flash emunand over system nand you need to inject firm0/1 from an identical system nand firmware version. I am not sure if having different region firm files will cause a brick

Firm0/1, what? All that is involved in a region swap is installing the other region's titles and a SecureInfo_A. (Aside from other steps like a format, but since it's being injected that's presumably been done already...)

Ah. That much I'm unfamiliar with completely. Considering it's just the titles and SecureInfo_A though, does FIRM even change between regions?

yes u can.make sure you test emuand and nothing weird happenened.u can safely restore emunand to nand.i've done it before using n3ds jap convert to eur

Now I was told the firm has to be taken from system nand on the same firmware as emunand. Like if you're trying to flash 9.2 emu you need firm from 9.2 system nand. Is that true or does the firm not change when the version changes?

yes the firm changes when you update (only if the firm has been changed, it is not changed in every single 3ds update)

Just a message to tell that i flashed eur emunand to nand with the same version 4.5.0-10 E and J and it worked flawlessly i now have a complete eur 3ds
