Everytime I want to install a cia update file I have to unscrew the back plate and it's becoming a hassle. Is there an installer that will allow me to use the gateways sd card to install the cia ?

Or you can leaves the screws unscrewed and pop the back plate off super easily, its not like the thing is gonna fall of if you don't screw it in all the way.

Yeah... Stop using the screws. You can leave them on the plate w/ their lock washers, but don't bother screwing them in. The plate sticks on securely just fine w/o using them.

I use FTPony/Sunshell/etc mostly but sometimes (mostly for big files, 'cause the 3DS has slow ass wifi) it's just better to eject the SD and transfer them via a USB adapter.

edit: ninja'd

I update my games frequently whether it be small dlc or an actual update. So I'm just trying to find the easiest way without unscrewing it

micro SD management, its in system settings, or there is a standalone version available in the "usual places", it only works on windows, but imo its much more stable than the FTP programs

ofc the network solutions can be a bit tedious for larger stuff, but for VC games, dlc, updates etc they are pretty much fine, and if your in no major rush they are ok for larger stuff too

I got it working, and it runs quite fast over a network actually. So fbi has come to the rescue

Keep in mind, if you don't screw the back plate in your stylus won't stay in on the regular N3DS. I don't know about the XL, but I accidentally broke my stylus thinking it was bent out of shape when it was really the back plate that wasn't on tight enough.

Mines snaps into place on my New 3DS XL just fine, I never leave the plate screwed in I just pop it off from the sides easy.

any time i have tried that (even if its like a few hours later), the backplate has found itself partially screwed back in anyway, so its either awkwardly trying to spin the screws with my finger so they unstick, or breaking out the screwdriver again......i guess removing the screws would solve that, but for now if im expecting to open it up again frequently i just leave the back off completely until i have finished doing what im doing
