Hacking Wii U downlaoded the update, should I live in fear?

My Wii U just now magically downloaded the system update, even though I have blacklisted all the update sites in my router.

I shut it off at the "Your system will now be updated" dialog, turned it on and confirmed it still is on 5.3.2. Is there any way I can remove that update file? Will it install it without my knowledge?

I'd like to know where you all got your certainty from... I was at a friends place and his WiiU also downloadet the update before i turned of his internet and what it did was just install it without us confirming it upon next hard-reboot...

if you try to use any online feature it will ask you to update. if your using quick boot it will enable your wiius standby mode when this is active it will do whatever the fuck it wants when it finds an update.

Like i said, that thing happened after a hard-reset... So, yeah, not out of standby, there.
Tho standby is still probably worse, but there is no serious reason to turn quickboot on, anyways.

Can we somehow read out those .rpl files in the WiiU?

Through this post, I found this documentation about how to use the SDK.
Though it shows an example of the Vpad.rpl, which is documented. How would you go about some method/function that isn't known of, like the "CleanUpdatePackage"?

Yes you must download it from nus with Uwizard or NusDownloaderU 00050010-1000400A v11464 and decrypt it with common key.
You need IDA Pro 6.x
