Hello,

I have Smash Bros and Pokemon X/Y/OR/AS cartridges that I need the save games off of. They are all USA region cartridges, and I'm trying to ultimately get the save data transferred to my EUR N3DS in which I have all these games already installed via CIA.

The best way to do this is with NTR CFW's save game plugin. I don't have a Cubic Ninja cartridge. So my idea was to run PastaCFW and then launch NTR via a CIA of Cubic Ninja installed in PastaCFW. But PastaCFW also needs a Cubic Ninja cartridge to start - unless you use an O3DS and the MSET exploit. But that won't do me any good - NTR only runs on N3DS.

I was under that booting NTR via Cubic Ninja CIA in PastaCFW without having a Cubic Ninja cartridge was a possibility. Am I mistaken? Was this never possible?

The other option I was considering was using Nintendo's Cartridge -> eShop version save game transfer tool. Actually now that I think about it, this should be the easiest way to do it, right? There shouldn't be anything impeding my intention. I'm only concerned about what it expects as a purchased eShop equivalent of the cartridge vs. the CIAs that I've installed. Since the games are region locked, I can use my O3DS @ GW9.8 to copy the data. Then I could use savedatafiler to extract the save data to SD, then copy those files to my N3DS' microSD and import them in with SaveDataFiler.

What's the best course of action for me? Thanks in advance for all help.

I would assume that the key used to sign the save would make it incompatible with an out of region game (which was the case for my copy of SSB4).

The N3DS is EUR but I have the US version of all of the games installed via CIA. Would this still be a problem?

Isn't savedatafiler able to decrypt the save on the fly when it reads/dumps it to SD card?

No need for NTR-CFW. It's easier to simply use SaveDataFiler from within PastaCFW.

I was able to run savedatafiler from PastaCFW and backup the save for Animal Crossing, however, every other cartridge that I try this with says CTR CARD BROKEN - is this a known error with a solution?

Have you been playing them on lower firmware? This should only happen if you've been playing a 6.x crypto game on 4.x or in GW Classic Mode with a 4.x/5.x sysNAND, and then try to use it on a 6.x or higher console (or vice versa)
Do the saves work properly if you launch the game from PastaCFW?

Try using this: https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutoria...v-to-eshop-3ds-3dz-with-savedatafiler.380246/

mainly
2. Copy your Savegame and save it as 000400000FF40A00.sav

Backing up the ff40A save file to your comp then making a copy of your games save and renaming it to "000400000FF40A00" should fix your ctr broken problem.

As for the pokemanz, should be as simple as backing up and importing the saves without having to mess with any of the above.

If you're going from retail to pasta and have an o3ds you can use mset to patched rx tools on 9.8 and use SDF to extract the data. Since it is not going into GW you can just move the filter folder and install to the cia.

I only use NTR when transferring a retail cart to GW due to GW using weird encryption
