Every time I start SSB4 it says there is an update and I can't start the game without updating it. I can't update it due to the new exploit. How can I play the game without updating.
It says a system update is required before the software update can be downloaded. Are you sure it's the WiiU FW and not the SSB4 version upgrade?
even if it was just an ssb update, he would still need to update his wiiu to get ont he eshop to download said updateAre you sure it's the WiiU FW and not the SSB4 version upgrade?
I had this game for a while.Smash Wii U disc requires you to upgrade? Must be the newer copies because the older don't have such requirements.
I think you already tried, but are all Smash updates deleted from the storage?I had this game for a while.
What?I think you already tried, but are all Smash updates deleted from the storage?
I didn't delete anything. I can play it offline but when I connect I can't.The reason he can't play is because for some reason he is missing the game's update folder in his Wii internal storage. I don't know why is it missing, maybe he deleted the folder, maybe he had an external HDD and the Update folder saved there and he removed it etc. The thing is that once you delete that folder (in this case SSB4) next time you insert the SSb4 game disc the WiiU will try to search for that folder in the internal memory, if it doesn't find it, it will try to connect to the internet and it will download the update folder (or create that folder from the disc itself once it made sure you accessed the network) for that specific game. The problem here is that a new Firmware update was released last week and once you connect to the internet it will download both the Update folder for SSb4 and the FW update. The Update folder isn't necessary to play any game as the Disc itself provides the game data for the game to play (except dlc). This is Nintendo's way to prevent piracy by forcing users to connect their WiiUs to the internet and update even if it isn't necessary. I'm sorry this happened.
Just a guess, but the system let's you play offline because none of the new characters is involved. However if you go online there's a chance that people will use the new characters and you wouldn't be able to play against them since you lack the system data, hence you are forced to update.I didn't delete anything. I can play it offline but when I connect I can't.
So you can play the game then? Explain in detail.I didn't delete anything. I can play it offline but when I connect I can't.
I do have DLC if that's an impact but it's just Mewtwo.Just a guess, but the system let's you play offline because none of the new characters is involved. *NEVERMIND* The above guy hypothesis is pretty valid. Either way is a a strategy of the company to force users to Update one way or the other. So you can play the game then? Explain in detail.
There were three characters released since Mewtwo, all of them require the latest update.I do have DLC if that's an impact but it's just Mewtwo.
I know that. There were three characters released since Mewtwo.
