Hacking Is the build quality on the new EZFlashIV's significantly improved?

Wondering since the EZ Flash IV I currently have is built like crap.

The bottom right edge is always completely separated, the front and back coverings don't line up properly, and it feels like this could thing easily break.

It'll honestly be worth the upgrade to me if the new model is well put together.

about the right edge separated, did you break the plastic "hinge" ? (do not know how to call it)
mine did break when i opened... and because of that it doesn't stick togheter...
the screw is also crap, mine is "screwed" barelly can open it again if i want..

i also hate the fact for remove the mini\micro sd card i must remove it from the console.. would rather put the card on the top like a r4 card... (in my dstwo i can use the stylus to remove and insert the micro sd card instead the whole thing..

Yes I have the white one.

Nothing is broken, mine has nothing on the right edge below the mini SD slot. I glued it when I first got it, but recently the glue broke and I decided to leave it alone since eventually I might have to replace the battery. The only thing keeping it in place on the right side is the slot near the top.

The actual chip itself sits in the cartridge at an angle, clearly not match up with the outside case.

The top of the front part of the shell is noticeably low than the top of the back part of the shell.

The only edge that looks like it was made with some competence is the left edge.

While I know the new models aren't perfect, I'm hoping they're a little better than mine.

I did a bit of work on the housing for my EZ4. It's not pretty but it's solid. A bit of tack and super glue goes a long way. Then again, I'm comfortable mucking about with this stuff.

The housing will work fine since it's just sitting in my GBA most of the time.

It's mostly a matter of presentation. I just want one that looks nicer, and I'm wondering if this is just that. I've heard some dubious things about the new cart as well, but if the bottom right of the cart is joined without glue and there aren't any big problems with the micro SD slot, I'll probably upgrade.

Edit: I also don't want to glue it again since I'll need to replace the battery one day.

I just soldered in a mini-to-micro SD adapter. As for presentation, you could probably just spray paint it black to hide the mess inside, if you go my route. I mean, if you really want to buy a new one, go for it, but it just seems a bit expensive for micro SD slot and black housing over what you already have.

I couldn't tell you, as I'm using one of the older models. Though, the internals are essentially the same. It probably wouldn't be that hard to make your own housing if that's that big of a deal. It would probably be a lot cheaper as well.

A grinder, a bit of putty or rubber cement, a drill, and a steady hand will fix that.

As someone who owns a black MicroSD model of EZIV, it doesn't really have bad construction, aside from the bottom-right end coming up slightly after a fall.
The MicroSD slot at least has a proper spring in it so it works better than the MiniSD model, and looks better since the black covers most of the electronics. Weirdly enough, the black smells a little like paint, I think... But it's nothing to worry about.
So... It's at least SOMEWHAT better constructed from what I hear, but not perfect still. Fine enough, however.

Just received my EZ Flash IV microSD. Personally, this one has significantly improved build quality compared to the model I bought previously. Worth the buy, especially since I now have two SP's and can play Four Swords with somebody.

It seems like the shell doesn't actually seal all the way and that there's a crack between the seams of where the shell assembles, but it's fine.

The second one I got had the bottom part coming off constantly (a little plastic post that snaps into a hole) so I put a tiny dab of super glue and glued it shut. It's fine now.

Like I said, the only problem is that the seams don't really touch to a close. Nothing to really be concerned about, unless I'm outside in the rain or something.

I haven't had it for the longest time. Hopefully it won't crack and chip like hell like my M3 did. I had to tape my M3's shell together because of that.
