Yes, I remember reading something like that as well. There was one comment someone made he said "As a Dev myself, I call it BS.". Makes me think about it, cause if they really wanted to add the IC, I'm sure it can be possible. Though like you said, maybe the 3DS isn't capable and would be pushing it to its limits.

Maybe on the New 3DS come to think of it...something can be done.

Not to mention there is way too many Fire Emblem reps in the game, we need Wolf, Krystal, etc because she is part of the Star Fox franchise as much as others are. It's like Nintendo isn't listening and trying to disavow that IP altogether. Can we stop with people voting for Roy, Mewtwo, Lucas, I'm sorry, but I don't give two shits about those characters, at all. Ryu, yes, the others, not a chance in hell.

Right! Also, I don't know what the terms are with Nintendo and Rare. Though I remember playing Donkey Kong Country and Banjo Kazooie and Goldeneye. All great games. Too bad Microsoft bought them.

Because of this, I dont know if it can happen. But I would like to see a heavy weight like King K Rool or Banjo and Kazooie. Maybe Loyd from Tales of Symphonia. Also Black mage from Final Fantasy. And from Star Fox, Wolf and Krystal are good choices. I remember a character named Cat from N64 Star Fox that can be a good choice as well.

Nintendo owns all the rights to King K Rool, Kalypso, Krystal, etc, Banjo, Jet Force Gemini, however, are not Nintendo IP. So there is nothing stopping Nintendo from releasing the former.

So Ryu + stage for Wii U only it's around £5? Fuck! I thought the DLC would cost like £3ish.

Maybe when Nintendo sells it at a discount price I'll snatch it.

They have to be 100% sure that the new character won't screw up the balance. It's not like MUGEN that you can add everything without caring about broken characters. It takes a lot of time and effort, especially with so many characters to play.
All the past Smash games had issues with balance: 64 had useless Samus, Melee had useless Kirby and Brawl had broken Meta Knight. With patches, you can play the game just fine without worrying about unfixable problems.
As for new characters, Brawl lasted 5 years. It's safe to assume that there will be more characters in the future, especially considering how well Mewtwo sold.

Of course the games have balance problems - that's because they're party games and balance of any kind is not that big of a concern during development, it's worked on after Smashers who take the game way too seriously start complaining.

Disgusting, that why i am glad i use flash cart instead.
Yeah, this is ridiculous. $14 for three new characters. When did updating your game for free stop being a thing? Many indie developers still do it, and Nintendo can't? They're already milking their fanbase with amiibos, that should be enough.

Or, not buy them, now there's an idea, as you're not being forced ;O;

Oh, I won't be buying them, but that's not really the issue. We're seeing a glimpse of how Nintendo plans to run things going forward, and it's not pretty. Micro-transactions here, unlocks that require you to buy physical products there, etc and so forth. Seems their golden age of quality and consumer friendliness has passed.

At least their DLC is actually worth considering, many other games have shitty content. Complain to Nintendo then, because complaining and fuming about it here won't get a damn thing done. Frikin' hell people are uppity.

Free content updates, I mean. Balance updates and updates to online play are standard across games of this type anyway. I'm not going to praise Nintendo for finally catching up in that regard.

No, it's not. A few characters for $14 is shit, quite frankly. $2-$3 a character would have been reasonable. When other (quality) developers release DLC for $15, it usually includes new gameplay mechanics, new areas, new items, etc. Nintendo doesn't get to live in a bubble free from competition, as much as I'm sure they'd like to pretend they do.

More 8 player stages, Miiverse and Tourney. Things they don't have to do.

It was never a thing, other than with free to play games and indies.

The complain to Nintendo, write them a hate letter, bitching about how it's too much money, what's stopping you from complaining to them? Only on the internet would people have the audacity to complain of more content.

Just from looking at Mortal kombat, it seems to be about the same.

Golden Age of this company is coming. Next SSB will have 55 characters at the release, 10 veterans are excluded but will be added as PAID DLC, also 5 new characters will be added as PAID DLCs. Special Special mode(use your imagination) will be added as PAID DLC. Same rules applied to stages. More features are coming aswell, but for FREE, yes those are the nice feature that are cut in the first place. For example: tourney mode are cut, butt will be added as FREE DLC later. So we can praise them for adding something for FREE.
PAID Pokemon content is not far from now. Maybe not on 3DS, but surely on 4DS. You want the Ultra Evolution Charizard? Ofcourse you can get it, for few bucks.

You want the golden age so much they should have you pay for everything. Like tourney mode, something they been and still working on this whole time. Let's put pay online on top of that. Forbid they get pay for working on extra stuff, stuff people have been pushing for. All their extra work should be given off for free.
