Homebrew [IDEA] Ds Emulation possible by pc and mobile phone?

Since when my Dsi is broken I need to play my games with an emulator.
On my mobile phone it's a bit uncomfortable because you need to have to play at NDS Games in a limited space but that's possible, by pc that's more uncomfortable than mobile phone because games wich requires touch screen (i.g Trauma Center) it's very difficult to control.

So I've got an idea.

Is it possible to make NDS Emulator wich emulates upper screen on pc and touch screen on the mobile phone?

Or is it already possible to do it?

It's technically possible. It would work in practice similarly to the Wii U gamepad. I don't think any DS emulators actually support this functionality though.

I use bluetooth controllers when emulating DS. Your idea could be possible but idk if anyone would go through with it.

we already got ds emulators on a phone, if your phone is not powerfull enough then you should invest on a good one...
the best you can do is using a app to control the pc on the phone like realVNC or team viewer ... which lets you emulate the mouse.. and hopefully keys...

doing that would lead to really stupid input lag.
the other thing too, it would still be really uncomfortable and everything would probably be out of sync too, at least enough to be annoying. in addition to having to move your hands between keyboard and a phone lying in front of you all the time.

get a new ds if you want to play those touch screen intensive games like trauma center. for everything else, pc emulation is, at heart, sufficient, though still just second best after an original ds.

ds lite fan boy here.
more battery, more compact, more durable (on the hinge)
and you can change brigthness on it, i think the phat ds can't?

usually when one person says "original" x system. it means its the first one... like you call original game boy to a DGM-001 gameboy

The problem is that there is literally zero demand for this functionality. People want everything on one platform, not some odd mix that makes it impossible to easily keep track of both screens at the same time. If your phone isn't big enough for comfortable DS emulation, just pick up an inexpensive tablet. Considering I'm pretty sure even a Galaxy S3 can run DraStic 100%, it isn't as if you need spectacular hardware to get it going.

sorry but making an emulator is really hard enough.. it's not worth the trouble of doing somehting like that (you would have to make a separate app, make it comunicate with the pc, sync it..) just for 1-2 people use... its too much trouble when it gives almost no function..
you can already use a controller on emulators, by third party stuff you can even use a wiimote on a pc and use it to point to monitor and can use the emulated screen

you can use thoose vnc stuff i told you, however they usually have lag...

it's useless to code something like that.. if you think its that simple, you can do it yourself..
desmume IIRC is open source, which makes the job easier, but stll its too much a trouble for something not really usefull... everyone at this time and age already got powerfull phones\tablets devices that can emulate a ds pretty great

besides, there are desktop touchscreens you can use on windows.
there are bluetooth controllers for android devices..
like i said, there is no use for create an emulator that streams one screen to an android device... there is already apps that streams the screen or a part of screen that does it poorly aparently..
and i am pretty sure some tablets let you stream the image to a tv screen, you got lots of alternatives already..

This is a silly thing to address, especially since it's in response to a misunderstanding, but I figured I'd throw my two cents in for the fun of it.
I prefer the Phat myself, it feels more comfortable in my hands and the buttons are much tighter. I tend to prefer tight buttons.

@OP: Either way, I'd recommend just picking up a cheap DS (Phat, Lite, or DSi, they should all be fairly cheap in your area) or look into the possibility of getting a 3DS. It's one of the few systems I don't think is better to emulate over just using the original hardware, mostly due to that second screen. Some games that don't really use it are fine on PC, but others really aren't and just feel more tedious than they normally do.

You'd be coding an emulator, coding the netcode for it, coding a client application, and fine tuning that mess to sync up well. I can think of a couple of ways that it might work, but good luck getting it to work well over different types of hardware. I guess the second screen could be handled software side, but that could lead to stuttering depending on your setup. I guess what I'm getting at is it can be done, but not easily (at least not with the ways I'm thinking, maybe someone will have an ingenious way that it could be done that will be perfect for you), not to mention you yourself would have to code it or find someone that is willing.

In Italy it's hard to get an old ds/dsl or a dsi! They are so expensive, used too!

(Ds ph and ds lite you will not found anymore but dsi when you found it costs!)

Ah, that's rough. I don't know how easy it is for you to import, but the DS and DS Lite are region free (DSi has region restriction for DSi Enhanced games) and they should work fine with the DS/DS Lite chargers around there. Either way, it seems like it's going to be rough for you if you want to play DS games, but at least getting a hold of another DS should be smoother in the long run.

you can use a wii mote for point at the computer screen and controll the pc with that (it works like a mouse)
its not really praticall but if you say its a good alternative for you ok..

you need a wiimote, a bluethoot device on your pc.
you need a way to power the wii sensor bar (it doesn't need to be connected to pc) you can also use a wireless sensor bar, or even candles (the sensor bar is just a bunch of infrared leds to let the wii mote know the position of the screen)

and you use this app to connect the wiimote to pc http://glovepie.org/glovepie_download.php (its done via bluetooth)

do you mean the power socket?
because the ds phat uses the power cord of the gba sp, the ds lite has its own, and the dsi uses the same one as the 3ds..
but AC voltages and frequencies are compatible\universal, just needs a wall converter available in lots of store places
