Seriously. Some of us are unable to get NinjHax to run properly for some reason. Not to mention, with it being hard to do, even with the N3DS, a lot of ppl dont want to get the Update Nag issues, and a lot of ppl run with GW or Pasta now and run either .3ds or .cia Homebrews. A .3dsx Converted to either of those would be a lot better

Personally, I would rather see a .3dsx loader app as a .cia file. I think that it's been long enough to continue to have a homebrew scene stuck in a format war. Instead of .3dsx vs .cia, it should be .3dsx + .cia, to open the floodgates of progress.

I agree. I've seen many people with good cred say that Ninjhax/Homebrew Launcher/.3dsx is by far the best way to go for homebrew. If a .cia version of the Homebrew Launcher was created that obtained the proper permissions then I think we would have a pretty solid setup. And honestly, I like the idea of separating my homebrew from my games on my 3DS home screen.

Would love to have a GBA Emu as a CIA and r3Ddragon that works with Wario Land
CitrAGB currently wouldn't work even if you made a CIA out of it. It uses a .3dsx only feature which, correct me if I'm wrong, would need to be essentially rewritten in order for it to work as a .cia. a Homebrew Launcher cia would be more useful IMO. edit: seems like a cia of CitrAGB is close(?) to being finished.

Yup this is also the case for r3Ddragon. It will boot but nothing will play. Although the author of r3Ddragon is working on a branch on his github to fix this and other issues

Well hopefully we can see them soon. Seems like not much is being done in the way of Emu/Homebrew for the 3DS. For the PSP, PS3 and DS there were tons of ppl trying to create Homebrew/Emus. Now it is like they are saying who cares.

GBA emu, cannot work as a CIA as it requires special Ninjhax services (unless code is rewriten to support the .cia format which if I remember correctly the creator is doing so you'll just have to wait), r3Ddragon should work, but I couldn't even get it to work on ninjhax so idk.

Might I add that ninjhax is still the best way to run homebrew, it works for nearly all people who have CN and a compatible 3DS, only noobs seem to have any trouble with it really.

Well as many smartphones are capable of running code of anyone (especially android) the need for homebrew is lower, and the interests of many developers have also gone to mobile or pc. Thus most emulators these days are being made for PC or mobile.

I don't want to buy a $40 copy of Cubic Ninja when I already have a way to load unsigned code, also I'm lazy.

The developers abandoning everything but PC and Android really hurts because in order to get a decent emulation experience you need to buy a controller. Sure I can dump Pokemon Emerald and play it on my phone but I no longer get the tactile feedback of buttons.

This is true, but remember there are also controllers for mobile phones and basicly all emulators support them.

But a decent one for android is at least $30 and is something else taking up room in your pocket/handbag.
Yeah and a 3DS is way more than $30, you probably already have a phone anyways, and the phone is most likely more powerful so it can emulate more systems, and overall emulate them better.
