From a staff of legend - wait for it - ary developers, including but not limited to illustrator Tomomi Kobayashi (SaGa series), renowned composer Masashi Hamauzu (SaGa, Final Fantasy XIII), and writer Masato Kato (Chrono Trigger), The Legend of Legacy is an RPG adventure where players unravel the secret agendas each one of seven explorers has in store for the mysterious new island, Avalon. Because when an island materializes in the middle of the sea from out of nowhere, exploring for the sake of exploration is out just plain out of the question.

Seven adventurers are about to embark on the quest of a lifetime as they explore the island of Avalon and unravel the mysteries of its dark past in The Legend of Legacy, published by FuRyu in Japan, and coming this fall, ATLUS will release the RPG in the Americas for the Nintendo 3DS™ system. The game is developed by a core group of legendary developers (Chrono Cross, Chrono Trigger, Final FantasyXIII, and more) who came together to create this brand new IP where players can choose from seven characters to explore the forgotten history of Avalon. The game will be released in retail stores and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS.

Other gameplay features in The Legend of Legacy include:
  • Seven Unique Perspectives - Each character in The Legend of Legacy has their own motivation for exploring Avalon, and their individual conclusion at the story's resolution. Play through as each character to see them all!
  • Combat Gets Classless - Managing formations to instruct specific combat roles instead of fixed classes adds a different level of challenge for battle enthusiasts.
  • Legendary Development - Illustrator Tomomi Kobayashi (SaGaseries), renowned composer Masashi Hamauzu (SaGa, Final Fantasy XIII), writer Masato Kato (Chrono Trigger), game designer Kyoji Koizumi (SaGa series), and Masataka Matsuura (999: 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors) all come together to create this brand new experience.
  • Balanced for the West - Based on user feedback following the Japanese release, several gameplay adjustments were made to enhance the gameplay. More details to come later!

Awesome news! The Japanese release is one hell of a grindfest, and sadly only has 1 town to explore (I was expecting standard RPG towns), any news on a western release, I missed some pretty big story stuff before I stopped.

No word on Europe though, just the Americas.

The whole concept of choosing from Seven unique adventurers each with thier own agenda reminds me of 7th Saga. I loved that game on the snes, will check this out.

Why do people expect that Atlus, a US only company, is going to announce a EU release?
We have to wait until Nisa comes around the corner and localizes that game.

Although art style doesn't make or break a release, I look forward to the day where this awful art style that started on the DS can finally die.
I was about to comment on how this game looks exactly like FF4 on the DS xD

eh, at least the 3ds pulls it off alot better than the DS ever did. I'd rather see them use this style than them try to use one that is simply beyond the capabilities of the 3ds hardware(Happened way too much on the DS).

Overall Think this is pretty interesting. Might pick it up if I'm not diving head first into all the other releases this year

Early September to early December, if i´m not mistaken.

looks really good, I wonder what will happen to the ongoing fan translation.
'Dunno why but i Really like this art style, reminds me of Bravely Default.

It's better than bravely default... and many others, to be honest, like Infinite Undescovery.
At least Bravely Default made sense in the context of the game.
This one just flat out doesn't make any sense. The Legend of Legacy
Is it the legend of some dude's legacy? It just seems like the title was made in Google Translate.
