While OLED screens do provide better contrast, my experience has been that every single OLED screen in any of my electronics eventually had burn in problems.
Mind that I havent used an old vita model, but I like the slim's LCD. Bright and natural.
My advise is that if you havent seen the old vita's screen, go for the new vita. You wont even be able to notice anything and the gaming experience would be the same.
Kind of a stretch to say you don't be able to notice anything.
If you have a smartphone, tablet, 3DS, DS Lite or later, or PSP 3000 or Go, then its easy to notice the difference in the slim Vita screen. You could just visit the same website on two devices to notice the difference. In fact you don't even need to do this because the slim Vita screen is SO yellow that you start to pick up on it eventually.
But then again who knows, maybe we're all just genetically different. It's so annoying talking about these screen differences. What's crazy though is I heard someone criticize the wiiu gamepad for not displaying the color red correctly. Are you kidding me?? How can that possibly be an issue while slim vitas are being gobbled up even though it barely displays any color correctly let alone blue / teal / any shade of blue / skintones.
Also, anyone remember this?
When this came out everyone was like haha yeah bloom sucks, whatever happened to color, games are so brown now.
Then slim Vita came out and now someone is stupid for liking color and "doesn't get it"
Colorful screens cause headaches, duh!
