Hacking How to localise a 3ds connected to my phone hotspot network

So someone in my school stealed my 3ds but it autoconnect to my android phone network (i know the mac adress) so do you know an app that will localise it with the signal force requering me to move
So then i can almost know where it is
(in which room of my school) because i sleep in the school as the one who stealed it, there is 4 person per room and 30 rooms next to each others in a large coridor so if i could just know in which room it is it would be precise enough or just showing the signal force so i know how close i am

Maybe one of those WiFi scanner apps on the Play Store?
Not sure if they work with hotspots though.

There is Wifi strength test programs, I've ever used that to check the WIFI hotspots.
Unfortunately those programs could only show the strength of yours to AP, not for AP.
An IEEE about this, sounds a little weird: Link. Many AP provider? I don't get the point much.
If not, you would need a directional antenna, as said in Here. Well those device aren't cheap you know.
BTW I think a socialengineering way might be better for you. There may even be classmates who want to help.

fing gives you private IP of the device, it won't help you knowing the location.
Honestly, I think social engeniering could be your best option.
Put an ad on the doors of your dormitory stating you are willing to buy a 3DS, or that you will remutarate a few euros someone who lends you a 3ds for tesing purpose .

I reinstalled Fing to check available options. Unfortunately they won't help you.

Well, the goal is not to pay him but to find him.
Once it comes with your 3DS in hand threaten him to call the police.
You know who it is so you can also see with the head teacher.
The best would be to ask a friend to do it for you as the guy who stole it may recognize you

About your location, sorry, I don't know anyone near Colmar.

I dont think the guy will keep it. He knows the owner lives in the same place as he does. Unless the thieve is really stupid...

Already cheked twice i will see with the headmaster this evening and hope i find it back but has he didn't take the charger maybe it's just a joke

I hope too but the deadline to find it is the end of the week so i have to be smart on that one if i don't i think i will be so pissed off that i may not be in the 3ds scene anymore
