I've been browsing FileTrip for quite a time now and I've stumbled upon something, warez.

They can mostly be found in the Android Games and Emulators section in FileTrip.

Some of you might not even know how some of these are warez, I'll explain.

The -oid emulators where developed by someone whose work was praised for stability but his works where NOT released for free. They were paid works. And they were removed for the Android Market (now Google Play) due to him using open-sourced code and then selling the final product without even giving the source code. It was then moved to SlideME market and was free for a day but wasgiven back it's original price after the said day. Only N64oid remains on SlideME.

Now I know most of you know DraStic but I'll still tell what it is. DraStic is an emulator developed by Exophase. There's a demo version but judging by the description on FileTrip, it seems that it's the actual full app, but outdated.

Worst part is, most of these are rated 5 stars. I believe the people who rated them have no idea what they were downloading.

can you point me to the exact files that should be removed, and a link proving that these are indeed illegal versions?
it's difficult to moderate these things, indeed...

Internet download manager cracked:
http://filetrip.net/pc-downloads/ap...manger-cracked-finall-version-1-0-f33190.html

https://www.internetdownloadmanager.com/

The website says that the full version is not free and costs real money.

Here is a link to yongzh's slideme account: http://m.slideme.org/user/yongzh
The only thing you'll see there is N64oid which is a paid app. The rest of his apps are removed but this article says that they were free for a limited time and then returned to original pricing: http://phandroid.com/2011/07/15/yongzhs-emulators-now-free-at-slideme-get-it-before-two-weeks-time/

Pardon my ignorance, but what exactly is illegal about the last six links? They're not paid apps on any app store that I am aware of...

They were removed from the android market a long time ago because his apps were violating open source laws. The apps were then available again at slideme for free for two weeks then returned to the original pricing.

Basically, they were paid apps. All because they were pulled from the Google Play store doesn't mean they suddenly weren't paid for to begin with. Ultimately, even if the emulators were legally dodgy and didn't conform with Google Play standards (or some moral standards for that matter), it doesn't change the fact that the developer made them and put them up on a store for payment.

are they still on any store that anyone knows of ?

if they are, we have to take them down immediately

if they aren't, I'd rather get to the bottom of this and ask the author if he wants the files taken down or if he's OK having them online.

The apps used to be available on slideME but they aren't on any other market, not that I'm aware of.

And as for DraStic. It's still available on the Play Store and is regularly updated.

Might I also suggest there be an approval process for uploading files?
Because right now, it seems like I could watch an entire season of some anime all just on FileTrip.

Unfortunately, that's pretty unreasonable all in all. If there's a free file uploading site, inevitably, illegal files will end up on it. It's unfortunate, and files just have to be moderated the best they can be. Especially if you want your upload service to be viable, you can't hinder the storage and retrieval process. As it stands, FileTrip doesn't have a lot of moderation going on with it, and I have no idea if it truly has any dedicated moderators.

With that said, holy hell does Filetrip need a report function if we don't want illegal files on there. As it stands, just looking at the recent/latest public files uploaded, there's a bunch of episodes of Accel World and Sword Art Online season 2.

There used to be a report button, but I can't for the love of me find it anymore. And since there's no report button there's no reports incoming either.

Looks like the code part of it is still implemented, though.

EDIT: You can still call the JS function apparently.
