I've already ordered a DS Mode flashcart, and would like to get a gateway.

Figured it'd be cheaper if I could buy one without the blue card, and just get the red one.

Doubt it, but is there anywhere you can just get the red one?

Why did you order a DS mode flashcart if you can get the blue one for free with the red card.

the best way i think is to find in here at gbatemp or ebay... i mean.. every once in a while it comes a deal of someone wanting to sell only the red card..
anyway, yeah, if you wait long enough, it will be obsolente,
*insert gateway being just a stupid drm card rant here*

A certain shop did offer the red card only deal but it was better to buy both the red/blue because they offered the red card+mSD card for more.

It's a bit more than just a DRM card. The ability to use an exfat formatted and easily removable microSD card is kinda nice. This is especially more useful on the N3DS due to the built-in cards location. I also kinda like the gateway rom loader menu... much faster and easier than installing CIA's.

But yea, paying for the exploit kinda sucks.

Shouldn't that be a reason to wait? :P
At the current situation no. CFW is stuck on 9.2 while we are on 9.7 on OG3DS and 9.5 on N3DS. The problem is you cannot play anything newer that has been coming out on CFW. Games are starting to call for higher firmwares slowly.

I hope gateway stays better than cfw. I'm didn't pay $80 for a gateway just to have a better, free exploit released not 3 months after I was able to use it.

Well, which one is easier and is already avail. We no have options. Using multiple cfw's to achieve what GW can do or the all in one solution. I still find it funny that we have people still complaining about GW but still use it. They know who they are.....

Much faster than installing CIA files, yes. But the GW ROM loader menu is not that great. It's only a single line of games, where with CIA files you'd have them neatly organized on the home screen. Oh, and the N3DS shows up in My Computer (Windows 7 and 8.1), wirelessly, by default, after configuring it from the Settings app! You don't have to pull out any microSD card and plug it into a card reader or anything like that each time like when using a GW flashcart.

Once emuNAND is added to Pasta CFW and the mset exploit is ported to it it's all over for Gateway.

I hope gateway stays better than cfw. I'm didn't pay $80 for a gateway just to have a better, free exploit released not 3 months after I was able to use it.

Oh, please. GW has only been used as a DRM dongle for some time now. It drains the battery unnecessarily. Some people use it to install CIA files and then remove the card in order for the battery to last longer. Does that sound like a good investment to you? CFW + CIA is the way to go.

edit: i quoted you dspider for no big reason, just because i saw the "DRM" in your text but i am talking to the others too
