Hacking Sky3DS Game Limit? Is AR Power Save required to use private headers?

I am thinking of buying a sky3ds. I have a few questions before doing so. I heard that even though sky3ds does not have the 10 game limit anymore, it can only hold up to 31-32 games iirc. Is this true, and why?

Also, is action replay REQUIRED to rip out private headers from legit games? Is there any other way (Besides Gateway).

Lastly, can you use Action Replay Power Saves on the Sky3ds, for cheat codes, editting saves, etc? Or does it only work on legit cartridges?

It's true. Sky3ds can only hold 31 games. I'm not really that knowledgeable, but I read a post about it. The reason for the limit is because of how Sky3ds manages the save files.

You don't need an action replay to rip out your private header (not even Gateway). You just need the launcher.dat from Gateway to boot into their menu. I don't know about cheats and stuff though. I don't own an action replay.

It's the cart itself (or the writer can't remember which was). Whether you use an 8GB micro SD or a 32GB both are limited to 31 games. And your second question is right. You can remove or add as many times as you wish.

The limit is per MicroSD AFAIK, it seems like a dumb soft limit that they added for no good reason.

The new DiskWriter adds a new "reserve" partition so you can have more games on reserve to swap into your main partition. I keep about 2 games in my main and the rest in my reserve.
