I've recently got an R4i Gold 3DS. I tried copy-pasting the save from the Acekard 2i to the R4i Gold, but it doesn't seem to work. I'm pretty sure they are the same save files though. Anyone know why?

I do believe the default for R4i Gold saves was .nds.sav
There should be an option in the menu to change the save extension from .nds.sav to just .sav.
You can also just go through an manually rename all your sav files .nds.sav on your computer.

Alright thanks. One question, how do you rename/edit the save file? I was expecting there to be .sav in the end of each file name, but there was none.

If you are running Windows, make sure you set it up to show file extensions.
make a savegame and compare the file
rename, your savegame. if it's the same it should work.

An interesting note, almost all flashcards use the same sav files. I used to use the same 8GB between my R4i Gold, Acekard 2i, Supercards DSonei, Supercard DSTwo, DSTT, and M3 Real. All using the same saves without any problems.
It's just the ending that needs to be tweaked when it comes down to the R4i Gold since it should be using Wood R4.
Which is easy to switch, by pressing start, going into the settings and pressing R/L until you get the screen that shows sav extensions. From there just switch it from ".nds.sav" to ".sav" and your saves should work perfectly

Will it convert my already created save files to .sav?

I won't convert them, it will just change the settings from reading .nds.sav to .sav, which will then allow the R4i Gold to read your current sav files.

let me explain something crystal is trying to say.
changing from .nds.sav to .sav, is just the name, there is no real converting. the acecard menu gives an option to use .nds.sav for whatever reason
but its just a name, the software is sensitive with names and thats where the problem is happening, both files are the exact same thing, just a diferent name

Oh, but if I switch to .sav, will my other saves that are .nds.sav that were created beforehand work also?
