Hacking GBA backup tool help

So I am trying to use gba backup tool 2.1 with Pokemon Fire Red.
Extraction of the save and rom works perfectly but when I try to import the sav back into the cart it does not work, nothing happens at all and it is as if I never touched it in the first place!
Any one know a fix? Or can help me out?

and which flashcart you are using?
if it was a ruby or emerald save, i could test it...

Using an R4i SDHC
I am trying to use an edited one but I have also tried using a non edited one which I just played through on VBA and neither worked when restoring them

Just tried to use this and it just gives me a black screen when i boot it

Yes but I then tried it without and got a black screen both times

ho wait, i remeber pokedocs tool, got 2 versions, one which didnt worked for me neither.
try the other zip on the page http://projectpokemon.org/forums/showthread.php?12405-A-tool-to-backup-HG-SS-saves

I am using the previous version now which works so i will report back soon

is your pokemon cartridge legitimate? or is it a fake cartridge?
is gba linking enabled on the r4 settings?

theres no option for that? but it worked fine ripping the save

fo you have other gba cartridges (like a mario one) you can try?

try this gba backup tool, i patched it to block dldi auto-patching. i am not sure if this will help.. but give a try...

to make sure its not from editing or using an emulator, try to save, backup. do something and save, then restore to see if the backup tool does soemthing,,,
