I accidentally lost my bluecard for gateway while I was cleaning and I had a load of roms that I wanted to play.

Might be a stupid question but is there a way I could load up DS roms from the red card?

No way to load from the red card. Just pick up a cheap R4 clone. That's all the blue card is anyway.

thanks for the answers guys,

One last question? does the R4 play emulators? Nes, snes, gba etc?
My good friend satel and I disagree on a r4 clone. I wouldn't touch the SDHC ONE with a 10 foot pole. People are always having problems with it and they release a new model every year and drop support for the old ones.

My suggestion is the r4ids.cn card. It hasn't been updated in over a year because it just works.

It may play some emulators but probably not very well. You need a DsTwo for that and those are hard to find.

I have the one from http://www.r4isdhc.com/ on my beloved DSi and it's amazing, so far every game is compatible and the one I had issues with was Mario & Luigi RPG 2.

Was well worth the price, I paid equivalent to 15 USD in banana country currency and it came with a microSD-USB adapter and a fully loaded 8gb sandisk card.

on a slightly unrelated subject, you think that gateway, or any 3ds flashcart for the matter would ever support native ds game launching or via interpreter?

the dstwo+ supposedly can play .3ds and .ds roms from the same cart.... i ighly doubt it though. it would probably be like a sky, gateway mode at first, then boot into sysnand and start hitting a button to cycle through ds games. dont count on that though, as far as we know, the dstwo+ is vaporware.
