Just wondering if the games with generic encryption is safe. I downloaded a .cia that was pre-installed on another console and installed it. Not using GateWay or any signature-patching CFW.

I accesed eShop after installation and they didn't get deleted or anything. I haven't been banned either.

Is there anything I should know about these "legit" games? I installed the games to sysNAND (9.2) then injected the NAND into emuNAND then updated to 9.7 so I could access eShop - no problems so far. I use rxTools for emuNAND.

people have not really been banned for piracy so far, some sky3ds public header stuff maybe --- but if you are paranoid and worry about things like this, i really recommend just to use no hacks at all, it will help you sleep at night!
but yes, you will be fine if you use them

Ninjhax can execute HB Launcher and or any other compatible boot.3dsx ^_^

As for legit CIA, we talk about official Bundle games working without NNID.

The legitime 2/3DS/N3DS who offers the Bundle, provides without Account to re-download
it IF by any circumstance it gets deleted from his SD Card (Valid Bundle Console Serial).

Nintendo provides System Transfer, as for that, it should be possible
to even transfer Games from Bundles.

From all kind of Games we can use, legit CIA should be the last to worry
about beeing a problem.

To use invalid CIA, public Headers and Homebrew, is your free choice.

What could happen with Streetpass and Homebrew was greatly shown

I knew about the HB Launcher. Just search for "FBI CIA Installer" and you'll find it - it's patched to enable cia installations via Ninjhax (FBI has a 3dsx build). Thanks for the other onfo! I'll keep it in mind :D

To the best of my knowledge, no one has been banned from this yet, that's not to say they couldn't start banning within the next ten minutes by simply counting the number of "legit" cia's one has installed on their system.

but i think you can amass preinstalled game if you get one bundle, system transfer to another bundle. then you have 2 bundled games on 1 3ds. then keep doing that with many different games.

- or is that not how system transfer works with preinstalled games?
i have never used system transfer

I'm not certain, although that makes sense that they would be able to be transferred over...either way, i'm sure there's any number of other ways to check for it.

Some preinstalled games get deleted with system transfer, well, legit .cia's do, to my extent of knowledge ;_;
I had all the games I could need and transferring my O3DS info to my N3DS deleted them with no chance of recovery, oh well XD

Sure, but what happens when they check your install/transfer history and see that you have 12 preinstalled titles but no system transfers.

Then surely the ban hammer will fall.

Perhaps this answers my question. Does the amount of system transfers you've done match the number of clean .cia installed games that didn't get deleted?
