Hello,

As stated above, what options do i have available? Just in general. I recently got a 9.0 and i installed the NTR for region free games, and quite excited about that.

Just so far i'm not finding much else besides having to buy a gateway card for it's functions. Not sure if gateway has features that would drive me to get it or not.

Edit: I have sky3ds that i use for my updated N3DS - Deciding if i need to sell the 9.6 N3DS or not depending on options for 9.0 if it trumps having two N3DS.

Appreciate the responses :)

Well, there's the SKY3DS and some things like R4I SDHC 3DS RTS, but I think Gateway is better. It has more options and you only have to buy it once.

updated my OP. I have sky3ds i forgot to mention. which will work for cubic ninja.

There isn't much you get from gateway that you can't get from NTR + Sky.

Now with ninjhax+FBI you can install any of your region's signed cias:

USA Games :
Animal Crossing New Leaf - File size : 739.7 Mo, Credits to 87agyisbhdk
Fire Emblem Awakening - File size : 1.05 Go, Credits to Jefffisher
Luigi's Mansion 2 - File size : 842.8 Mo, Credits to Jefffisher
Mario Kart 7 - File size : 634.3 Mo, Credits to Pyorin
(Update 1.1 is preinstalled, so you can play online right away.)
Mario & Luigi Dream Team - File size : 824.0 Mo, Credits to Anonymous (OP: 87agyisbhdk)
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate - File size : 2.54 Go, Credits to Jefffisher
New Super Mario Bros. 2 Gold Edition - File size : 340.9 Mo, Credits to Pyorin('s sister)
Super Mario 3D Land - File size : 389.4 Mo, Credits to Ryulejzzu
(plus pokemon X/Y/ORAS)

I use sky for JP Cubic Ninja, to start gateway. With gateway's emunand I'm able to boot a US emunand even though my console is JP.

My main use for gateway is savedatafiler - but you can do most save decryption with NTR now.

I do recommend using gateway's launcher (no gateway card required) to make a backup of your 9.0 nand in case you accidentally update.

EDIT: Also, a huge benefit of gateway is game updates without eshop (.cia).

Hang on, I'm in an identical situation with the first guy, 9.0 N3DS + Sky3DS. Let me make sure I understand this.

The games that you have listed are able to be downloaded to any 3DS using FBI, and is not restricted to only the original system that received the content. Does this mean that I can go to any ROM site with a CIA section, download these games, and install them myself, or are they special files that I'd need to find in some special way? (Not a ROM request, just wanting to know how I would do this.) Mainly, I'm interested in the MK7 update so I can play without as many glitches. My game freezes occasionally, and it's rather irritating.

Gateway can spoof higher firmware to play newer games without updating, while Sky doesn't seem to be able to do this. Is this something that NTR can accomplish as well?

I've been hearing that making a NAND backup is very important to do. If I ever have to use it in case of updates, do I need a hard-modded system or is there a different method to do so? Also, while this seems like a very stupid thing to do, I'm curious if it would work in theory. Could I potentially update my system, play the game that forced the update/use the eShop, and then use the backup to go back to my 9.0? If I were to do that, would I possibly keep anything such as eShop purchases made while on 9.6?

Special files, often referred to as "legit", "legal", or "signed".

NTR does not have firmware spoofing so you can't play e.g. Xenoblade, while you could with gateway.

If you do not have a backup and update, that's it -- no options. If you do have a backup then yes you'll need a hardmod to restore it. Cheaper and easier than buying a new exploitable 3DS.

Yes, you can update to play games and then restore your backup with a hardmod. For eshop games/updates it should be possible to extract the tickets and insert them to your older nand, but there aren't any guides/etc for it yet.

Boy, hard-modding just keeps sounding more and more tempting. I just wish that I had even a bit of hardware or soldering experience to be able to do that.

Okay, last question. I checked the site that you gave, but it doesn't give anything about the version ID that I need with 3DNUS. Also, if I make a mistake and download/install the wrong version, will it brick my system, or can I just remove it and try again?

Okay, so that was two questions. Sorry.

For 3DNUS titleid take the main one + the low one for your region http://3dbrew.org/wiki/Title_list

In the version you can click on each one shown to find out which firmware it's from if you need a certain version.

I went to the page you gave and it gave me a link to a huge list that said it had the title ID and version for everything. The list is here. http://mtheall.com/~mtheall/tmdlist.php

I used Mario Kart 7, since that's one I want the update for so it stops crashing. I copied the title ID from the site HipsterPluto gave, and Ctrl+F got me to the correct part. It was even labeled as Mario Kart 7. I copied the version into 3DNUS, and still got an error message saying that I had the wrong information. I don't get it.

I used the following:
TitleID: 0004000000030800
Version: 2112
