As per title, I wonder if anyone tried Xenoblade 3D Japanese version on a US or EUR 3DS..
If so, what language is the game in?

I just wonder if the game has built-in multi language like the USA version and would set its text/subs/interface language according to the system settings.

(I know JPN ver only has jpn voices and USA ver only english voices, I'm wondering about text/subs/interface here..)

Having a JPN N3DS, of course the JPN version of the game displays in Japanese, so I can't test the theory myself.

tl;dr: is Xenoblade JPN version's interface/text in english on a US/EUR N3DS?

It's in Japanese, no option to set otherwise. The menu selections are in English so I thought we got lucky but no, everything else is in Japanese

Thank you very much for testing.
So you can confirm that on US or EUR N3DS with system language set to english, the Japanese version of Xenoblade is still fully in japanese besides the title screen menu selection?

The game has already been released in the US and EUR.

Making an undub would be completely pointless because you could just play the non-JP version

Eh, that's the point of an undub. People want the JP version audio. If they play the dubbed version they would get the english dubbed audio, they want to undub it :P.

Taken from wiki:
"Undubbing is a type of video game hacking, which involves modifying the contents of an officially localized video game to match the audio and voice acting to its country of origin while retaining the translated text of the country in which it has been localized."

Ah. Confused it with a "Translation", then.

Making an undub would probably be pretty easy, then -- just replace the US/EUR audio files with JP audio files (All voice-acting is packed into the romfs's "ahx" folder, so you only have to swap two files and update fsize.dat accordingly.)

If I remember, I believe the contents of the Wii versions ahx.pkbs actually varied. As such, swapping the entire file may or may not work. I still want to look into this, but I've been too busy with other things to do so (and i need to re-generate that romfs xorpad, actually! whoops...)
Also, there's already a thread for this in a more appropriate subforum. I'd recommend continuing this discussion (including quoting me or whatever) over there.
