Hacking [Question] Can I Make Card1 Retail Saves Work With Cia's?

I have a retail Mario Kart 7, but I was just wondering if I can transfer the save from the card to the legit cia that I have.

Yes, Nintendo even released a save transfer tool for this purpose. But it only works one way, you can't transfer a save from cia back to the cartridge.

You'll have to enter the eshop and search for the save transfer tool. Once its downloaded, the app will give you instructions how to transfer the save.

To enter the eshop you have to update to the latest firmware so don't do this if you don't want to update.

I can't enter the eShop beacuase my emuNAND is 9.0.

That's funny because ORAS is Card2 and it works fines with SaveDataFiler.

you can dump retail saves with either Gateway or CFW.

However, game saves smaller than 512KB requires CFW + savedatafiler.

Quick question:

I understand you mention you have a legit cia for mario kart 7.

I want to be clear, are you using Gateway or just Vanilla hack-less 3DS?

Out of my games (Mario 3DLAND, MK7, StreetFighter IV, Formula 1, Asphalt 3D),
the only game that was 512 was MK7.

Thanks, but since your tutorial requires CFW I'll have to use my O3DS.

hmm, I actually don't own a N3DS, so I'm not aware that Palatine CFW doesn't operate with N3DS.
(I'm assuming it doesn't, based on your post)
