Hi all,

have been trying to boot into gateway menu after using OoT 3D exploit on my new 3ds to no avail.

I'm not sure if the steps I took were right, but here they are:

1. Formatted internal microsd to fat3, and put launcher.dat (from 3.11) into root of microsd card.
2. Used save dongle to transfer gateway save file to OoT cartridge.
3. Insert OoT, boot up 3ds, click A after successfully loading the save file.
4. Boot into screen where it says the red gateway card must be inserted. When I did it the first time, I put launcher.dat into the microsd card of the red gateway as well (misread instructions). It told me that the firmware of gateway card needed to be updated and I let it.
5. Update seemed successful.

This is the weird part: when I tried to boot to gateway menu, only a black screen appeared. I closed and opened my 3ds and it went back to the main menu.

I tried running the exploit a couple of times, and each time after inserting the red gateway and pressing A a black screen appears and I have to close and open my 3ds to go back to the main menu.

I think I am doing something wrong but I don't know what. I really want to install emunand and cia, so please help!

I am using a samsung 64gb microsd card, which i have formatted to fat32. Should I format system memory or something?

Try the 4gb toshiba that was included in the console when you bought it.

It could be possible the 64gb samsung is incompatible?

Hmm okay this is really weird. I tried with the original 4gb card and I get a black screen for like 5 seconds before I get kicked into the main menu. I can press select and it lets me boot up a game (mk7) for the first time, and then it fails when I try again.

The 5 second black screen is normal. At least you managed to get into gateway mode once. Try to setup your emunand with the 4gb micro sd card inside your 3ds.

You can move emunand to your 64gb one later.

How do I do that?

When you're in Gateway MENU, scroll all the way to the right using the D-pad and select "Diagnostic Test" and see if it passes. Since you're able to boot into Gateway Mode, I think your Gateway card is good, but nonetheless, try it. If it passes all tests and shows a green led, you're good :)

While your in the gateway menu scroll right to "backup system nand"

Once that finishes (should take about 20 minutes) take out the micro sd card and copy and store the nand.bin file on your computer. This file can be used to restore your 3ds with a hard mod if you screw up really bad.

Put the micro sd card back into the 3ds and enter the gateway menu again. Scroll right and click "format emunand". the nand.bin file must be present for this to work. This will delete everything on the micro sd card so make sure everything you want is backed up.

Edit: Also make sure to do a diagnostics test like the above user said. Takes about 20 seconds. if the cart is defective on anything then return it.

Edit2: There's always a small chance the 3ds can freeze whenever you enter the gateway menu or enter gateway mode. This is normal. Hold the 3ds power button and try again.

Okay, I ran the diagnostic and it's all green and am backing up sysnand now. Thanks Adeka and ravihpa for the prompt replies!

On a side note, do I need to downgrade my console to install cia? all the tutorials I've for cia are for OG3DS so...

I just been playing offline, and they give you a few bots here n there on your team to help battle. I don't think it's as funny as the other games tho, more battle oriented than humor, which kinda sucks, but I'm still early in it
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, doesnt the game have a campaign mode?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea, and co-op, but you can also start a pvp session and battle just with friends. You get special skill cards (powers) the more you play. And higher value cards, but you can only enable so many cards at a time.

Toilet paper is considered the money, you collect and buy stuff with TP, kinda funny. Graphics are def better than the other games tho, I think they used Unity 5 engine.

@Xdqwerty, Many of them did before colour television was common.

Likely because black and white TV was in-expensive.

It certainly wasn't inexpensive it cost the same as a new car back then

How much did a 1965 color TV cost?

For example, a 21-inch (diagonal) GE color television in 1965 had an advertised price of $499, which is equal to $4,724 in today's dollars, according to the federal government's inflation calculator.
