Your job as a security guard has just been upgraded to some of the biggest screens yet. It looks like Warner Bros. is taking FNAF to the big screen sometime in the near future.
It will be produced by Roy Lee of Vertigo Entertainment (Run All Night, The Ring, The Grudge), along with Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg of KatzSmith Productions (both of whom are working on a Beetlejuice sequel). They’ve put the project out to writers.
It sounds like Five Nights at Freddy’s creator Scott Cawthon will be involved in some capacity if this thing actually gets off the ground.

Video Game movies are notorious for being the worst Hollywood has to offer. This could be a pinpoint horror movie that has the potential to be incredibly interesting. Guess i'll make sure to bring my heart medicine for all the impending jump scares.

This is a theory of mine why this will go to the big screens
Due to the rising popularity of FNAF, Warner Bros. wants to try something new, VG movies. If the movie turns out to be successful, they might make more movies and when the time comes, they'll start purchasing video game companies in order to use their games as a base for the movie.
I don't think this theory is actually long though.

Im with sonicrings here, FNAF has a very interesting and elaborate back story that could make for a decent horror film.
From what I can see, many kids play FNAF and do nit realize one thing. Murder happened before the game takes place. If they show this at theatres and kids watch it, I'd think the movie could get sued by moms

well I mean... that's why the movie will ost likely be rated pg-13 to R. That's why people do this stuff, so kids don't try to see scary movies.

Hooray for age gating!

Just trying to figure out how they're going to make a horror movie span 30 years, unless they're going to try to set it in Fazbear's Diner (the only known location that hasn't had a game, but has been strongly alluded to in FNAF2 + 3)

Here's my guess
FNAF 1 Part 1 (Introduction)
FNAF 1 Part 2 (Events in game)
FNAF 1 Part 3 (End of Day 6? Receiving of Paycheck, the truth being told)

Or maybe the movie is just a hd video of someone playing fNaf

For 2 hours.
It will top the charts in seconds

Honestly, though, if they wanted to do something interesting and creepy, the plot could look like this:
Antagonist signs up as security guard
Spends first 1/4 of movie realizing what he wants to do with himself (murder children), maybe throw in satanic references and odd visions/hallucinations that distort reality both for added length and effect
Actual murder of the children
Antagonist realizing he f*cked up, but is now in too deep, so stuffs children in the suits
Literally the rest of the movie could then be the souls of the children tormenting him, leading him to take shelter in Springtrap, killing him

If they do the above, they have a pretty scary/creepy/disturbing movie that has a ton of room for at least one sequel

There's enough shit movies flooding out these days that this one wouldn't be at all surprising. Would be better as a late April Fools joke, but oh well.

I don't see where the hate is coming from. FNAF is a great game with great lore and is actually scary.

You must be 7 years old. Scary? What? It's not even remotely scary. It has a couple jump scares and spooky robots. Ooh i'm wetting my pants over here. Granted, you do have a sonic username.
It's a shitty game that got promoted by spaztubers making videos of themselves 'freaking out'. There's really nothing to the games aside from pretty cute little "easter egg" type things if you pay attention.

You want scary? Go play Corpse Party (or watch Corpse Party: Tortured Souls, that's pretty damn good too).

Scares and Spooky seem to imply "scary"

FNAF does a great job of making you scare yourself over the anticipation OF being scared, more-so than the actual scare of the animatronic getting you in the end.

I mean, you can boil it down to being a game hipster and wanting to hate the popular thing as much as you want, FNAF is a highly successful series that offers simple yet intuitive gameplay elements. That's what makes it successful and a good game. Adapting it to the big screen seems like a perfect fit. Most Horror movies now focus on anticipation of events anyway, FNAF is the perfect fit for that genre.

I like how you're taking this to a personal level because you know you don't have any sound arguments to back up your opinion.
If you don't like my opinion, either be nice and state your own or shut the fuck up. :)

Also, thank you for making me realize why bearcanrock posted the following about you (in your sig). It all makes sense now.

I still don't see how people find this remotely scary. The only thing supposedly scary about it is a bunch of robots popping up and screaming. Maybe I'm just not easily scared, but I don't see how that can do anything other than mildly startle you the first 2 times it happens.

Have you played the game? The effects vary, because the scare tactics are very much on the psychological level; the game is basically trying to force you to think that you're the security guard that's in danger for the time you're playing it, and lets you know exactly what happens to you (the guard) if you get caught by the animatronics both through witty exposition from "Phone Guy" and through seemingly harmless, but wildly suggestive "Game Over" screens
