Hello,

I noticed Harvest Moon The Lost Valley wasn't working on Gateway on firmware 2.6 so I waited. Gateway just released their beta 3.0.1 firmware and I've updated my card and the 3DS but I still can not launch the game. It get stucks on the first screen right after pressing A to launch the game (with the 3DS logo on it).

I looked at Gateway's release notes but they don't mention fixing any games or anything. If they are not aware that Harvest Moon The Lost Valley does not launch, is there a way to contact them to let them know so they can fix it in the next firmware update? Or has anybody figured out how to get it to run?

Thanks!

Well, it's been really hard finding roms for this game. I don't remember where I got it from, but on a site I know I didn't get it from, people are saying the game gets stuck at the same place. All these sites might be sharing the same rom, I don't know. But yeah, the only roms of it I have come across don't seem to work.

No, I have not set emunand up. Seems a bit too complicated for me. There are not that many games that interest me. The last game before Harvest Moon The Lost Valley I tried was the european version of Fantasy Life, and that game played fine after updating Gateway's firmware. If I have to set up emunand and all that, I'd rather not bother.

I guess that's the reason? Thanks!

It's really not that complicated...there are plenty of step-by-step guides here on GBATemp. Just take it one step at a time and you'll have access to everything.

Hi, same situation for me. Tried playing harvest moon but it gets stuck on the 3ds title screen. Would just like to ask if you tried setting-up the emunand and did it fix the problem? Thanks.

Oh, ok. Thanks. So it really needs an updated EmuNand? Tried updating EmuNand to 9.6 earlier but then Gateway would not boot properly. Had to reinstall the blue card and reformat the SD card.

That must be rough. Productive I'm sure but hard to balance with daily life

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.

Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though

@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.

Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.

@Maximumbeans, I had a friend who had a glass chess set for their birthday.

It was like all clear and fancy. Tbf I'm not too experienced with chess, but would like to learn someday.
