U can make 4000 step by yourself, just for one or two days, its easy. I make 10 000 steps for one day - just go to school and back.

I just shake my 3DS for about 15-25 minutes and have 4000+ steps for the whole day. 25 minutes tops for a whole day of fast O-Power regen. Lol

If you do go out, I guess you could bring your 3DS with you, but I am afraid to, so I keep it home.

My pants are always to long, so i roll up the legs, when i'm working behind my desk, i'll roll it up a bit bigger so my 3ds fits in it, then i'll whobble with my leg where the 3ds is placed, i'll end up having enough steps for my needs in the games that use it, also gives me always enough coins to use in mii plaza games when needed :)

I need the steps for Pokemon. I don't care about the coins.
Just strip your 3DS to a vibrator for half an hour

this is actually a good idea, you can use your phone vibration..

if you are not afraid of damaging\scrathes your 3ds (or something soft to protect it, you can put the 3ds on top of a washing machine

Just walk. 4,000 steps isn't really that many. The average person takes at least 10,000 steps in a day.

I always bring my 3DS to work with me and carry it in my back pocket. I serve tables so its an easy 20,000+ steps.

Soooooo, get a serving job. You're makin' money and gettin' all the steps you need.
