Hi, everyone!
I'm new to all this Wii modding, so sorry for not having a clue about what I'm doing.

I'm trying to play The Cube over USB Loader GX but the game freezes at the instructions screen. What could cause this? Just Dance 2015 didn't work as well (black screen at start) but changing the cIOS to 224 or something fixed it. Could it be the same case with The Cube?

I'm loading it using cIOS 250 which is my default.

Download the latest version of syscheck for the wii, throw it on your sd card and run it via hbc.

After it runs a scan on your wii, it will save a text file on your sd card with the results.

Copy and paste them into this thread so it can be troubleshooted. :)

Doesn't seem to generate a log file, it fails to run the scan I believe.
Failed to get the stored TMD for IOS36

I don't know, I did it years ago. But it wasn't with some kind of game, that's all I can remember.

re-soft mod using modmii, probably you had used an old guide and is giving you headaches...

the official website is down, hers a mirror: http://www.hacksden.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=153

since the website is down it may tell you it can't download a file, if you can't find that file elsewhere, i may send it to you...

I already have ModMii installed, I used the Windows installer to generate the files for me

Got it! I didn't have IOS36 installed, so I installed it and I could get it scanned :)

If you're using IOS250 as your main IOS to load backups, then no wonder why you're having problems...

Your default IOS needs to be IOS249 (unless you're playing something like Call of Duty, then you need to use IOS250).

Switched my default IOS to IOS249 and I'm still having the same issue.
Here's a picture of it btw: http://i.imgur.com/l4aa5hD.jpg

Ok, i'd suggest using the SysCheck Updater on ModMii and update anything as required on your console, using an application with a built-in Wad Manager like either: WiiMod, YAWN (Yet Another Wad Manager Mod) or MMM (Multi-Mod Manager).

If that still doesn't work, try resetting USB Loader GX back to it's original default settings and then see what happens from there...

I'm having trouble locating the SysCheck Updater.
EDIT: I don't have ModMii, I'm re-hacking my Wii as I'm posting this

Found SysCheck and updated the following
  • IOS36-64-v3608
  • IOS62-64-v6430
Didn't work. Resetted USB Loader GX back to it's original settings, didn't work either.

DO NOT touch any IOS below 200.
you risk bricking your Wii.
Your IOS 36 is wrong now that you installed a random WAD from internet !

And even if your IOS were old and syscheck updater told you to update them, the IOS below 200 are not used by the loader, so they are not the cause of your problem and will never change the game compatibility.
The only IOS used by homebrew is IOS58, all others are never used.

1. Your slot 250 is old.
2. We don't know what's installed inside (because it's old and it doesn't provide information of itself)
3. Music games and call of duty need an IOS with base 57, users usually install base57 in slot250 but NOT EVERYONE. telling user to "use 250" is not helpful and will not fix the game if he doesn't have the usual softmod.
4. slot 224 works because you have a patched IOS based on IOS57 installed on this slot.
5. Why ask syscheck to users if it's not to use the results to interpret and help him correctly? He doesn't need modmii, he only need to change his slot250. his other slots are fine. Only his IOS36 is bad.

what to do :
1. install d2x v8 final base57 in slot250 (installer for Wii available here)
2. download IOS36 from modmii or NUSD and reinstall it to get a proper version.
3. try to set slot250 to the problematic game's setting.

Some game don't work.
I don't know if The cube is one of the non working game.

1. I installed d2x v8 final base57 in slot250 using the installer. It said SUCCESS.
2. I downloaded the IOS36 from ModMii using "I Agree -> 1 -> 36 -> D -> Y", opened up MMM on my Wii and selected "Download and patch IOS36"
3. I changed The Cube's IOS to 250 but the game still freezes at the instruction screen.

I can get Wii Party to work using default IOS and Just Dance using IOS224. I can't get Wipeout 3/4 to work (It's a USA game, I'm in Europe but I did region unlock my system using Priiloader).
I think my Wii is pretty messed up, I hacked in it 2009 or something like that and I haven't used it since.

Is there any way to completely start over with my Wii? 100% factory reset it, re-hack it using LetterBomb and then try to get the game to work?
