Try local classified ads, or aliExpress. You can sell here as well, but I haven't tried it myself.

2Hack and Tony8690 thanks heaps for the info guys. It'll be a while before I reach 100 posts because I'm waiting for the Gateway New 3DS support and I've read of all the answers I have questions for and I don't want to make BS posts to reach the quota. I've posted the sky3ds on local auction sites so I'll see how I go. Again thanks guys:D

Personal preference. DSTwo I believe may allow for GBA emulation since it has built in processor/RAM or something to that effect?

Okay, but as I said, it would be only for DS games. Nothing else, no homebrew, no emulators, nothing. Just DS games on a 2DS console with whatever firmware ships on current consoles. So in that case is R4i Gold a good choice?

I want to order from this place, they have several cards from $9 to $16, which would you go for or are they all about the same for what I want to do?

Hey so I have a question:

Is there any way of using the red gateway and its new exploit to play regular old ds games (roms) on my 3ds? I have the right firmware and even an old flashcard that worked with the 3ds to play old ds games (Acekard 2i) but it got blacklisted a while back so I can't use that anymore. I don't have a red gateway card yet and so I wanna see what my options are. Maybe I can even get it to work without buying a gateway card?

Just wondering if the see-through 2DS comes with firmware 9.2 or less.

Looking forward to getting a Gateway card.
In what maybe a hypocritical way of thinking, I'm telling myself that used games didn't support devs anyway.

I just got a 3ds handed down to me, but unfortunately it's on v 9.5.0-22E.

Is there any way at all to play roms on this firmware, and if not is there a way to downgrade the firmware so that it is hackable to play roms? Thanks.

Thanks! So all I have to do is buy a sky3ds and I can play roms? The 'read 1st, 3ds hacking and homebrew' thread I was reading seemed to be saying no flashcards worked with firmware above v9.2?

I'm trying to figure out what is the best way to hack my 3ds so wouldn't it also work to install a custom firmware rather than buying a flashcard? What would the advantage of a sky3ds be over a custom firmware? Thanks again for the quick reply

I bought right now a regular 8.1 3ds, i have a gateway card (and a n3ds waiting). I'm new to the scene and I read that the MT emunand doesn't need any card in to be used, I was wondering if I can use my gateway card to install .cia in MT emunand. (this way i'll be able to access emunand and play my .cia without the gateway card to be in right?)

I have another question. I want to start play pokémon alpha sapphire, if i install the .cia of the game in my emunand, can I transfer the save from this 3ds to the new one when gw update came out?

And also, can I use a samsung evo 32gb micro sd card with the adapter?

Thank you.

Well, again. As I said. Personal preference. If those built in features intrigue you, go for it. If not, then just get the cheaper of the ttwo.

Js I purchased the 9$ card recently (Cheapest one), worked perfectly fine with the MTinstaller.nds on my 9.2->4.5.
Got emunand and was able to access eshop :P Its just a 3ds compatible NDS flash cart and works just as well as they always have

Good to hear. Yeah, Nintendo's block attempts are not bulletproof by any means

Sky3DS needs no CFW. It's plug and play with the 3DS. If you are above 9.2, you have no choice. Sky3DS or bust.

Hi Guys,

I will make an effort to read this and other threads to get some background information but I'm wondering if a few quick questions could be answered please.

I used to have a Nintendo DS a few years back with an Acekard and managed to donwload and play roms fine. I've now bought a Nintendo 3DS XL for my son (picking it up tomorrow) and basically want to know if it's possible to the same thing as I did in the past.

If it is then my questions would be

What card do I need?
What firmware do I need?
Where can I find the games to download?

Any help and direction on any other threads to read first would be very much appreciated.

Regards
gordy

If your son could wait, check gateway out (firmware needed is less or equal to 9.2)
else, get Sky3DS

Thanks for the quick reply.

My son has no patience and will want to play as many games as possible as soon as he gets it lol.

Can anyone link me to where/how I can buy Sky3DS from a reputable/reliable source.

Thanks
