BB Code Tag: div
Supports Option Parameter: Yes
HTML Replacement: <div style="{option}">{text}</div>

Would it be possible here? I'd LOVE to have this. It could ultimately make many more threads more beautiful, ProjectPokemon have already adopted this method and project threads look gorgeous. It would also make siggies cleaner and more beautiful. :D

I personally love using div tags, but this is GBAtemp. People will probably abuse it. I'd be for it though if people won't be ignorant dicks with it.

Well let's see...

[divblock] test [/divblock]

EDIT: So no current support here. Meh, I don't think it'd be abused much here, I doubt most of the kids who would abuse shit like that would know how to use it lol.

But I also don't think it'd be used much anyways, so there'd be no point adding it IMO

square brackets [] are used in BB Code (forum post formatting code) whereas a div is HTML, so you need to use these <>

?

I believe he's asking for the BBCode equivalent, which is divblock.

There's also the
HTML:
<div>test</div>
, I wonder if this would work...

So no, not really. Lol

Let's try something else...

HTML:
<div>test</div>

Oh neat, I did it. Not sure if normal users can, but try enabling "Enable HTML" at the bottom of your post, then use ["html]stuff[/html"] with HTML code and use that.

That option is for staff only. And the [html] BBcode is unrelated to that; it is to highlight HTML markup:
HTML:
<div class="something">Some <span style="color:red">text</span></div>
Edit: Guess the highlighter isn't installed, oh well.

As for implementing [div] or whatever, I don't see where it would be used. Perhaps you have examples of these "gorgeous project threads"? We already have loads of BBcodes for various purposes, though.

I suppose he wants to use it to make nice enclosure?
Like a quote
but it's limited in size,
so a quote with an option to not cut the content would be a reasonable replacement for div?

we can't let users play with css inside a forum's post if you thought about positioning or colors.

what could be useful are tables (or wiki integration, but it's not a good idea to allow users modify forum's structure by editing offsite content)

No, how BBCode works is it takes whatever is put in them, and replaces them with their proper equivalent. For example:

[css-div="{option}"]{text}[/css-div] would translate to <div style="{option}">{text}</div> through the forum software, the first being a form of bbcode, and the second is HTML. I'd definitely make use of it, it'd also make for some elegant forum signatures and would allow a larger degree of customization in threads, such as being able to create a sort of table for a thread, so you can have two divs side by side or something like that.

Oh bummer, I was hoping for more stylish posts in the future. I even made a siggy that utilises div tag already. XD
But div can only be used so much, no? I fail to see the negative side considering we have wonderful active moderators.
