Hey guys,
I'm new here and have already read in this great forum. I am considering to order the N3DSXL today, but it is so that the onlineplaying with scene roms can result in ban.

If I have understood correctly, it is safer to go with a unique private header. Does it make sense to buy smash bros 3DS to read the header out and usw this one in all scene roms?

Do I need for this the gateway or sky3ds flashcard?

If I want to play smash bros (orginal) online, do I have to upgrade to the latest firmware? But than the gateway-card no longer works?

When I play scene roms offline, is this safe? I need only to turn off wifi?

Many thanks!!

- Gateway does not work with the N3DS. The only cart that does ATM is Sky.
- Rent a game, don't buy. That's how I get my headers. Local store next to me rents 3DS games for $1/day.
- You do NOT need to upgrade to the latest firmware to play online. No idea who started this nonsense. You just need to be at the latest game version. I play MH4 online with my 9.2 handheld.
- No one knows if its 100% safe to play ROMs offline. To be safe, I just use private headers for everything. No issue yet.

As a side note: DSTWO+ is coming out soon, as is Gateway support for the N3DS. If you want to play games right now, buy a Sky - then wait to see who will win the cart war between GW and DS2+. Buy the winner.
I have a feeling DS2+ will be a hybrid cart, and come with built in emulation, increasing its value.

But it was confirmed by an admin on their forum.
We should have more info at the end of this month or by mid March, which is probably around the same time that we will get an update from Gateway.

I sure as hell didn't want to wait that long to use my N3DS. Plus no telling how long after an announcent the card or firmware update will hit.
